“Nice hotel - great art”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 13, 2013

I stay at the Intercontinental fairly regularly for conferences. It is a very nice hotel, in fact top notch with great art all on the walls. I have absolutely no complaints about this hotel but the surroundings, i.e. Rosemont/ORD are not particularly attractive and there is not a good selection of restaurants at all in the neighborhood or the hotel. I have twice brought my bicycle and gone for a ride in nearby trails which were nice.

Dear Guest,
The Fashion Outlets of Chicago will open behind us on August 1st with 125 upscale stores and 3 new restaurants. Currently, we have our own Fresco 21 in the lobby, Capital Grille and McCormick & Schmick's in our front yard, and Rosemont's new entertainment district 2 blocks away with 8 new restaurants and entertainment facilities. The immediate area continues to grow and become more interesting. Hopefully you'll return soon and our concierge will explain all that's new around us.
Thnak you for your comments about the art. We recently installed our latest exhibit - encaustic paintings, and they're fantastic.

Regards,
Patrick Cook, Director of Sales & Marketing

Stayed here for work, but so lovely I felt like I was on vacation. Throughout the hotel, is a gallery of artwork to enjoy. Just walking back to my room was always a treat! Fresco Cafe is the on-site Bistro with delicious selections daily. The Ice Bar was so "cool" to unwind in after a long day of meetings.

Here for a 3 day conference. Hard work requires excellent accommodations and I was not disappointed. Lovely, modern lobby, uncluttered with lots of pleasant artwork. Room comfy with special touches like padded hangars and nice toiletries. ONLY disappointment was too little light in the bathroom for putting on make up, but a good magnifying mirror was easily taken to the window. The food for the conference was excellent. Service staff delightful.

If you have a corporate rate that includes internet, parking, and Breakfast, this is can be exceptional hotel at a reasonable price.

Very conveniently located to ORD and all business in the surrounding area. Extremely helpful and polite staff.

The only thing you have to be careful about are the extra's They definitely can add up. I have stayed here at least a dozen times and the only thing that get's me is when my company loses one of the perks in the package, like breakfast or Parking.

This is a wonderful place to hold your wedding. The rooms are exceptional, the food was divine, the service was amazing! My client loved the presidential suite and I was treated very well by all staff.

We decided to visit Chicago at last moment and booked this hotel on Hotwire. We hop hotels based on whatever Hotwire provides us. Our request is always simple - 4 stars and free parking, don't even care if there is a continental breakfast. Well, maybe we didn't read the fine print carefully, so we had to pay a $22/overnight park while staying in a hotel OUTSIDE the Chicago downtown area. Not a problem. It's our fault by not reading the hotel description carefully. But hey, wouldn't you expect some kind of coffee maker in the room no matter what? Based on the manager's note below every room has a Keurig coffee maker, I am wondering where did my go. I searched every drawer in the room.

It's a neat hotel, sharp and contemporary and I really like the design. However, seeing no coffee in the room is quite odd. I should also mention that the front desk people (two from the night I checked in and one from the next day when I checked out) must be overworked since they looked so tired and unenthusiastic. Smile, even you have to fake it.

There are a ton of hotels in the Rosemont section of Chicago near ORD. I have stayed at a few of the others, but this one is my favorite for a few reasons: 2 restaurants in walking distance if you don't want to eat in the hotel. (Capitol Grill and McCormick and Schmidt) It was bitterly cold that night and I just wanted something easy and good
The other reason is the Ambassador difference. Although there is no club, the upgraded room (a suite) and the amenities (fruit and a snack ,as well as free minibar drinks) made up for the lack of club.
I am sure all the other properties have the free shuttle and a decent gym, but the property was new. so the equipment was still in good shape. I shall return!

Room Tip: Capitol Grill and McCormick and Schmidt are both in the parking lot. Greart happy hour @ M and S, fo...
