I have to admit I was a little concerned by some of the reviews this place has been getting. Overall however, my week here went well. The inside of the hotel kinda grew on me, you have to admit it probably is one of a kind. The t-hotspot works well in the hotel, it isn't too expensive either. The desk staff are a little surly, they want people to use the automated checkin/out machines, which are quite simple to master. The hotel has a completely round, and very small swimming pool. Its like swimming in a goldfish bowl.
The room itself was fine, and the location is good for the conference centre and the metro. The terrace restaurant really is the most depressing eatery I have been to in the states. Just don't eat there, no really! Sports knuckes bar isn't bad for drinks (the food comes from the same kitchen as terraces though), reasonable prices considering its a hyatt.
I also witnessed the phenonema of room service being left in the corridors for days at an end. I can only assume the staff spend all there time wandering around watering the immense foliage everywhere. Overall, not bad, if you get a good deal

This hotel was booked for me at the very last minute. I attended a convention at Mcormack center, and the Hyatt regency o'hare was just about the last place with an available room.. I had some concerns , after reading the numerous bad reviews, but was pleasently suprised by my experiance. the room was spacious, clean and comfortable. i didnot have any unpleasant experainces with mold, or unfriendly hotel personnel. The staff, especially the Concierge, doormen, and the very pleasant and helpful people at and near the front desk were awesome in their hospitality. they answered all my questions in a very professional manner, and were more than helpful. the food provided by the hotel restaurants was Delicious. I ate at "The other Steak Place' on the last night before I checked out, and I Found my meal, and the waitstaff to be absolutely fantastic!!!! the Rosemont Taxi's that were waiting outside the hotel were both friendly and courteous, especially the Albanian gentlemen, and the Greek guy that drove me to the Sears Tower. the conversations I had with them were some of my most pleasant experiences with taxi drivers that I have ever experianced.
Overall , my stay at the hotel was very enjoyable, except for my experiances being in "Knuckles". The management really needs to do something about the attitude of the Polish Bartender with the short Blonde hair. I found her to be extremely obnoxious and unprofessional . The Manager of "Knuckles" seemed to be concerned mainly with hearding everyone out as early as possible, much earlier then the posted closing time.. other than that, I would be more than Happy to stay at the Hyatt O'Hare again in any fiture visits to Chicago.

This place is AWFUL. Service has horrid. I was here 3 nights w/ a conference. It started out with electronic check-in. I had a room that I had to lug my suitcase up a flight of stairs. As expected, the noise was AWFUL. If you call for help from the front desk, deliveries, or housekeeping, be sure to have at least 45 minutes to be on hold. My room was not cleaned one day because they said I had the "do not disturb" on my door. I DID NOT. They had placed some stupid advertisement card on the door--IT LOOKS NOTHING LIKE THEIR BLUE DO NOT DISTURB CARDS YOU STICK IN THE KEY SLOT! I think they just did not want to clean the room. It sucks to come back to your room after a long day and have it still dirty! Plus, I had to be on hold for forever to even let them know. I had to ship a package at the front desk "business center" and the young guy at the desk said they had no FEDEX coxes. I said, "Come on--this says BUSINESS CENTER." Well, then he actually had to make an effort to look and he found some. He was not happy that he had to open a drawer to look. THen I needed to ship a package. I had to sit and wait for someone to help me for about 20 minutes--thatwas after already being on hold for 25 minutes waiting for the arrival of a package. Service is LACKING. Elevators are SLOW. It took 15 minutes to get an elevator. We had a very nice cocktail party one night, and a dinner the next. The ballroom right next to ours had a bunch of kids with LOUD music shaking our ballroom both nights. Loud DJ music louder than a night club! I love nightclubs, so I am familliar with it! But not while I am having a professional function. Plus, the kids were the rudest kids I have ever experienced The front desk staff acts extremely put off if you actually need to interact with them. The lobby was constantly PACKED with group luggage. So much that you could not even walk around. THere is a woman bartender in their bar "Knuckles" with short blonde spikey hair. She had poured me a vodka-soda. The soda was flat, and when I told her she was nasty, and poured me another flat one. Whatever.......!

One nice person there was the woman at concierge. I wanted to get down to a ballgame, and she helped me happily with train directions.

On Friday afternoon they had some guy getting arrested out front of the hotel with 4 police cars and in handcuffs.

This place sucks. Service absolutely sucks. I would not stay here again if I could help it!

We stayed here two nights for the annual Fest for Beatles Fans tribute. We are blue collar type people who don't expect nor want to be pampered. When we stay at a hotel it's usually a Comfort Inn. This hotel was excellent. The room was very clean and roomy. We had a king size bed with a mattress that was one of the best I have ever slept in. The Hyatt calls them the "great bed".The room also had huge floor to ceiling windows...how cool! The bathroom although small did the job and the shower(only) was excellent. I can't tell you about room service, internet, exercise room or the restaurant because we never used them. They are all extra by the way too. The mini bar is VERY pricy, $4.00 for a Pepsi which is why we brought our own.The only small problems we noticed while we were there were, the elevators were very slow. The hotel was sold out that weekend with over 900 room so I guess I can't really complain. Also the housekeeping was a little slow. Our room wasn't cleaned until after 3pm. It never bothered us. We paid $114.00 a night thru the hotel and I thought it was worth the price. The hotel does have a free shuttle to the O'hare airport which is about 5 minutes away.Hope this helps anyone who wants to stay here in the future.

I thought that it would be a nice stay when I got there. I purchased an upgrade to a suite which seemed nice. Unfortunetly it went south from there. I asked for a roll-away bed which was delivered without bedding. It took over an hour and several calls to get that. When I needed extra sugar, it again took several calls and a long wait. Finally on my final night, my keys no longer worked in the door and it took them a long time to make up new keys and send them up. (and again several calls) To make a long story short, the service was extremely disappointing, especially for a 4 star pricey hotel!
