“Nice hotel, not for families”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 8, 2009

Stayed here for two nights for business. Hotel lobby and area is very impressive. Front desk very, very professional and welcoming. I had a king bed room in one of the circular areas and it's perfect for one traveler. Very modern decor and amenities. Nice flat screen TV although not many channels. The room also lacked the usual "black book" with the ins and outs of the hotel. Also no phone book that I could find. Tried to locate the info on the TV but no luck. Not a big deal but it would have been nice to find out you dining options in the hotel. Speaking of dining, I'm not a fan of hotel restaurants and like to stroll outside and find one. My stroll here was a good two miles. There is virtually nothing around this hotel except other hotels and the convention center. If you don't have a car, you could walk to the train although I didn't have the time to explore, otherwise you will need to resign yourself to eating in the hotel which is pricey.

I will give kudos once again to the operator who sent up security to wake me up after I had left the phone of its cradle. Most hotels would have said too bad and moved on, I was glad they woke me or I would have missed my meeting. A small gesture but very important to me!!

Anyway, I would recommend this hotel but be warned about the lack of eating places close to the hotel. It would be convenient though to stay here and take the train into downtown. The ride to the airport is about 10-15 minutes. Overall, I'd stay here again.

I stayed for a convention there. Upon first walking in, I was speechless. Amazing!! A bit out of my price range but it was worth every penny and possibly even more. Usually I am not quite as eager to spend much or don't think hotels are worth as much as they are priced. For the price I paid, it was practically a bargain. The front desk was very helpful and when you request a wake up call, they also offer a 15-minute follow up call. The starbucks inside is open until late. They have a cool bar area near the front desk--very fun!

It's far away from downtown. So for those staying, it's ideal for business travelers-esp those attending conventions.

I booked this stay through Priceline and feel like a got a huge bargain!

The hotel itself is gorgeous and the rooms are both beautiful and comfortable.

The only issue I had with service was that I had to ask three times for someone to unlock the door between our adjoining rooms. But I was thrilled that we had adjoining rooms at all, a request that was graciously honored upon check-in.

The fitness center is the cleanest, nicest hotel fitness center I've ever seen.

For the people who complain about no pool, remember that this hotels caters to extreme business travelers, not families. That's why there's no pool, and why they charge for internet access. And $17 is a bargain for parking compared to downtown Chicago prices.

I also didn't have any issue with airport noise. I never heard a plane unless I was standing on the balcony.

I loved this hotel and wish I could have stayed longer!

Good
1. Hotel is near to Ohare airport , not to far from chicago downt town.

Bad
Summary : pay for everthing.
1. Parking 20 $ for over night stay. (30 $ for valet parking)
2. Pay for using Internet.
3. TV - No free local channels, pay for viewing..
4. i stayed in King size room the bath room was very small.

I would suggest to try ramada or Dayinn instead of paying so much money for this hotel. ( Which have free continental breakfast)

The hotel was great as it was last year when i stayed. Nice rooms, great service, and not to far from the train to get into town. Price was perfect so you couldnt beat it for a weekend of cubs baseball. The ONLY thing i can complain about is the TV remotes are very hard to make work. you almost have to smash the buttons to make the TV change channels. But otherwise, it was just splendid!

I booked this room for $41 on Priceline. Called ahead to request 2 beds. Used kiosk for check-in.. Received room 316 on third floor facing lobby view where all the action is. Room was decent size with 2 beds, fridge and nice amenities. Recently renovated so rooms have that modern flair and flat screen tv. Signed up for business plan for additional $20 which consists of full breakfast, for one person, 24 hours internet, 1 pressed shirt and newspaper. Just availed breakfast buffet and internet. Originally thought I was to receive breakfast for 2. Manager clarified it's just 1 person, but gave me vouchers for 2 without any question. Fantastic service throughout entire stay from everyone from Valet guys ($30/night) to bellhops to check-in to restaurant staff. Even housecleaning ladies were cheerful when you saw one.

Starbucks in lobby.

I do recommend asking for higher floor because I could hear people hanging and talking in lobby till wee hours in the night, as this is a large convention hotel.

Stayed here on two seperate ocassions for work in June. The hotel decor is very nice and they have everything you need for a business meeting at one of the country's busiest hubs. The hotel shuttle picks you up across the street from the airport at the bus depot. They give you cold bottles of water on the shuttle, which was a nice touch. Be prepared to spend 30 minutes from the time you get out of the airport to the time you get to the hotel. This hotel is not as convenient as the Hilton, which is actually connected to the airport via underground walkway, but it is a bit more modern and more luxurious feeling overall, IMO.

The Hyatt O'hare is also an easy walk to Gibson's steakhouse, not to be missed and preferred to the Hyatt's food. The food at the Hyatt is okay, but nothing to write home about, especially the lunch at O'h. The gym is one of the best I have seen. They even give you cold towels. All the equipment is new. The only issue isue with the gym is that you couldn't change the station on the TV and there wasn't a regular attendant to correct the issue.

Rooms have comfy beds, but you should expect to hear jet noise since you are staying at the airport. This didn't bother me at all but make note of it. Also, check your toiletries before showering and getting ready for that meeting, as the maid didn't replenish properly on either check-in. I also found old french fries on the floor on day 2 of my second stay. Leftovers from the previous guest, how thoughtful! I guess they don't always vacum either. The front desk will fix any issue quickly. They are great at the desk. Last thing regarding rooms, they do not have safes. I didn't appreciate that and always felt vulnerable leaving my stuff when going to work out. They can give you a safe deposit behind the desk but it is a hassle.

Overall, I would stay here again for a meeeting because the beds are comfy, the hotel is modern, it is across the street from a great steakhouse, and the gym is good. Would check prices versus Hilton and pick the cheapest, since Hilton was also good and more convenient. If you are taking in Chicago as a tourist, this is not the place for you.
