“Great Stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 12, 2012

Solid stay at this hotel. Lots of perks like free breakfast buffet and evening Managers reception with free snacks and drinks. Also on site restaurant and bar and grill. Nice large room with separate living room and bedroom, both with two large flat screen televisions. Free shuttle to and from Ohare airport. No complaints!

Would not stay here again. Not too clean - couch saggy, with big circular stains on seat. Don't want to think what that was. Desk sticky. Housekeeping did not stock shampoo and conditioner, nor vacuum prior to our check in. Can hear EVERY noise from adjoining rooms. And to make it worse, there is muzak blaring constantly in the atrium, clearly audible when one is trying to work in the room. Breakfast was fine - lots of choices such as cottage cheese and scrambled eggs. Took the stairs instead of the noisy elevator (that goes up when one wants to go down) and the stairwell was filthy with what looked like bullet holes in the walls. This place needs a serious scrub, a good paint job and some TLC.

Not bad, but not that great either! The place has great potential but just needs to be "tightened" up all the way around. We had problems getting the maid to leave enough towels, then she left shampoo and no conditioner despite asking her twice. Four of us in the room and we asked for towels for FOUR and it never happened without calling down to the desk. Some issues with the food and beverage as well. The evening managers reception was okay for drinks but the pretzels and crackers everynight were not much in comparison to other Embassy suites I ahev stayed at with nice appetizers or even the occasional veggie/dip and salsa/chips. This hotel had the feel of "only doing the minimum required." Breakfast was pretty much a disaster. A toaster that doesn't toast, empty buffet line dishes with people standing around wondering if they will be filled promptly, milk dispenser not working, and the not too happy omelette guy. It really, REALLY needs to be tightened up. Worst of all, do NOT stay here if noise is an issue, the walls are truly cheap hotel paper thin. I could hear the entire converstation of the room next to us. I hope this hotel cleans up their act, it could be nice. Some of the staff were very friendly and went out of their way to be helpful. Just seems like they need Management to make better decisions about various things and see that there is follow through. I think the bent, poorly decorated christmas tree sort of said it all. Button missing off the couch, towel rod hanging loose....I could go on.

Room Tip: Try the Doubletree. Seems nice right next door.

Ive stayed here twice when my flights were canceled. If you get stranded and need to stay at a hotel ask the airlines for this one. Only $72 nite for spacious suites, excellent breakfast, shuttle, and great service!

No surprises here you totally get what you pay for. A good night’s sleep, a decent hot breakfast, and a Happy hour thrown for good measure. Careful when you pick a room, I had to keep my drapes shut through the entire stay, as it was right up against one of Chicago’s many pedestrian overpasses.
The bar has a decent selection and shares the menu with the restaurant, all very convenient.
Gibson’s, one the best Steak houses ever, is right across the street a pleasant surprise.

Room Tip: Pick a room where passersby can peek in!

We were in town for a large group event -- Mid-America Irish Dance Championships. The hotel did a good job of accommodating the group. The rooms are perfect for families. Two double beds (queens would be better... but) fronted by a sitting room that faces out into the atrium.

The cooked-to-order breakfast is great, as is the manager's reception.

The staff were all very helpful, and the bar staff were especially patient dealing with large groups. All in all an excellent stay.

A group of us from work got stuck in Chicago overnight returning from a trip. Being put up at the Embassy Suites, however, just about made up for the bummer. A big suite, with fridge, sink and microwave and a very comfortable bed and seating area. Overall a very classy place and next time I have to stay in a hotel, I'm looking for an Embassy suites!
