“state convention”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed May 21, 2013

Upon spending a weekend at this hotel I am totally convinced that this is one hotel to avoid at all costs. The rooms are in need of more updating and when you rent a king suite you expect there to be some ammenities such as a microwave and a refrigerator. You also expect to have the hospitality service from the hotel make sure that you are supplied daily with coffee and etc in your room... I used the one coffee packet in the room upon arrival and never did receive any more even tho I asked the staff for some. The hotel seemed totally unprepared for our convention even tho they have known for a year plus that we were going to be there. To pull needed staff from our event to work another event was totally uncalled for. More employees should have been called into work OR the management staff that had the weekend off should have been there to make sure that everyone was better served. Many who attended this convention were extremely put off by this weekend. The one bright spot in the weekend was Abby at the front desk on Thursday and the young men who when asked for ice or help were there and very pleasant and willing to help us all. Too bad the rest of the staff did not take some niceness lessons from them.

Room Tip: Do not book here - there are lots of other hotels in the area that are nicer and more accomodating.

We hesitated following our group to the hotel chosen on a road trip after reading reviews.
The waterpark was not busy and the kids had fun, had enough in less than 2 hrs. i did not examine the quality of water nor did we go into changing room (due to reviews)

the hotel is very understaffed in area &/or poorly trained.
overpriced beer at bar in waterpark ($5) bartender service very good though.
there was an attendant 1/2 the time in the game room. maid knocked on our door at 9am ( i know only to see if we were out of room yet to clean ) said "sorry wrong room!"
Only 1 gal at front desk was even close to being courteous. you felt like you were disturbing their social circle when you asked for help. one time i walked by in the middle of a very loud confrontation between them in the opened door office behind front desk.
sounds like the ice machines have been out of service for months, only 1 machine in bldg working. (no signs to machines either, so had to pretty much walk the whole bldg to find the working one)

stayed in the 1200 wing. rooms were decent, clean and fresh smelling. i thought beds were very comfortable.i dont mind that things were not new (blow dryer interesting!), but needs to be clean and in working order. our room appeared to have a new heater/ac. so that worked, but we also had a running toilet (another review) i liked the brick wall decor. rooms were very quiet even though we had a patio door facing hwy. you did hear hallway noise though. the kids liked the hotel pool vs coco key better. temp was very warm and no one was it it!

wouldnt spend money for waterpark. all the little annoyances in service/out of order above lead to no recommendation and no return for us in future.

Room Tip: 1200 wing seemed to have decent rooms

My family hosted a 50th anniversary party at this "resort." The party itself was well done (food, set-up, etc) as was the departure breakfast the following morning.

But this property is in dire need of either demolition or top to bottom renovation. I would vote for demolition. The rooms are circa 1970 in both decor and condition and the HVAC is pathetic. Also, the management permitted another celebration/party at the property to spill out into the parking lot and go on on LOUDLY until 3am. The beds are also among the most uncomfortable I've experienced.

Room Tip: Book somewhere else!

I want to start out...Staff was VERY friendly!!!!
Now, on to what I didn't like, AC didn't work, very dated. It was just a dirty hotel. There was puke on the sidewalk in the back of the hotel the whole time we were there. Nothing was cleaned. you heard everything going on in the hallway.
Everything was out of order, Bathrooms, Elevator, ice machines just to name a few.
My kids (age 7 & 4) ask if they ever had to come back to this hotel.

This hotel needs major updating. It is also needs to be cleaned. Bathrooms are dirty and moldy. Just yuck. The staff was delightful and helpful throughout. The carpeting in the room was dirty and I did not walk barefooted on it. The parking lot is not well lit in the back and the door leading into the hotel never locked. I wish I had booked a room in one of the other nearby hotels.

Room Tip: Find one of the newer hotels nearby.

We stayed at the Clock Tower Resort as part of a wedding. Firstly, the resort in the name must be due to the fact that there is a water park attached to the hotel. There are a couple of restaurant/bars on the property too. Tilted Kilt and another. At night, there are a lot of non hotel occupants coming and going into the bar near the lobby. Complaints: Dirty, elevators not working, my elderly mothers room, which cost her the same as mine, had no microwave. In room coffee-horrible but, nothing new. Most hotels have horrible in-room coffee. My sister was on the main floor and heard someone whistling outside her window late at night. Kind of creepy. None of the rooms have a refrigerator. My sister had a pet and was placed in a room that was cramped, outdated, with an even smaller bathroom. The kids in the wedding group did have a good time at the water park. I will attach pictures.
