I took my 2 kids (7 & 9) for the weekend of Feb 29-March 2. Overall it was a fun weekend. I spent quite a bit more money than I expected, but that was due to the arcade and the pricey restaurant. Here's a breakdown of the weekend........
We arrived at noon on Friday and had a very easy, quick check in. We got in early to our room which was wonderful. The kids immediately changed into their swim suits and we headed off to find the water park and to do a little bit of exploring on the way.
ARCADRE- my kids loved it. It was basically like a Chuckey Cheese place, where you get tickets that can be redeemed for cheap trinkets/toys and candy. My only disappointment is that my kids took lots and lots of quarters that they had been saving to use in the arcade. You have to buy a swipe card and put money on that and use it like a debit card on most of the games. Very few of them had to be played with tokens. So, using the quarters didn't work out and was a waste. So, I spent quite a bit more money at the arcade than I expected.
WATER PARK- it was overall fun and my kids had a blast. I was disappointed though that no where on the web site does it list a height requirement for the water slides. I wish I would have known that in advance. My youngest was an inch shy of being able to ride the slides and you aren't allowed to ride double, so he was very disappointed. The wasterpark is definetly geared towards younger kids. I wouldn't recommend this place if you have older kids. But, overall, my kids really had fun here.
FOOD-The Clock Tower restaurant....We did not eat lunch/supper here because the menu really didn't impress me and was pricey. We did eat Breakfast though. Honestly, for the amount it cost me for myself and my kids for breakfast, we could have gone out to a restaurant just as nice, right down the road twice. The service was very poor, but I hesitate to hold that isolated incident against any restaurant. Everybody has off days.
FOOD-Pizza Hut......This is inside the waterpark. We ate lunch here everyday. It was what you would expect from a place that was very busy and had the market cornered on food at the waterpark. (There are no other restaurants at the waterpark) It was a bit pricey.
OVERALL....I would do it again. For the initial price of our hotel room for the weekend, it was a good deal because 4 water passes are included for the entire weekend. Next time, I'll know what to expect with the food and arcade. I would definetly recommend packing munchies and drinks to take to the waterpark so it doesn't get so expensive buying all your food there.
Hope this helps someone!!!!
