“Nice Little Botanical Garden”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 24, 2011

We visiting the Quad City Botanical Center on a Sunday when they had a special halloween festival going on with our toddler.

The facility itself is actually quite impressive given the size of the Quad Cities area, but this is not a botanical garden on par with any in a big city (nor would I expect it to be). Basically there is one big greenhouse (the one you see in the photos on their website), a few outdoor gardens, a small kids garden, and a train garden (nice for little kids). With the halloween festival (which was pirate themed that day) they also had a straw maze (my son loved) and some other events around the garden areas.

Overall it was a quick but nice visit (we are members at our home garden so got in free...)

“Tropical plants right in Rock Island”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 18, 2010

We spent an enjoyable half hour in the Sun Garden, a 70 foot tall greenhouse with a nice display of tropical plants. Lots of plants we have heard of but don't see in these parts: coffee, banana, coconut, papaya, vanilla and the like. You can not miss the Koi, although the frogs and parrot hid from my view. The outside gardens are closed at this time of year. The roar of the ventilation drowned out the sound of waterfall. 'Twas well worth the $5 admission.
