“the best pork tenderloin sandwich”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 3, 2012

A sandwich to die for. Fresh made pork tenderloin, with a very light seasoned breading. Can't get anything close in northern Illinois, so when in Peru it is a must. I always order an extra one to bring home. the small fits the bun, the large, you can cut in half and double it up on the bun. In the area, make sure you check it out. they have a full menu but this is the only thing we order. also have a big patio that overlooks the river.

“Nice stop over for dinner”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 15, 2012

It's generally a good sign when a restaurant is packed with locals. Such was the case on the Saturday night when we stopped at the Waterstreet and it was a good sign. Very casual rustic bar type atmosphere - definitely "come as you are."

I had porterhouse steak (most expensive item on menu at $20). It was good but not great - maybe a bit over cooked. Baked potatoe was perfect. My wife had the combo ribs/chicken which she rated as "great" (and she is fussy about food quality). Salad dressings were excellent - probably home made. Combo appetizer of several fried cheese items was excellent, with very tasty sauces.

Good selection of draft beer and liquors. Bill with food noted above plus 2 beer two call brand scotch was $61. Yes, we will return when in the area.

Note that the place is not one you are likely to just come across - you need to know where it is - GPS took us right to it.

“Simply a Beautiful Pub”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 29, 2012

This Bar/Pub/Eatery is located down along the Illinois River waterfront in Peru Illinois just minutes from the Illinois Michigan Canal and Starved Rock State Park. They have like 24 different beers on tap, if thats your thing, and a really nice local flavor. There are many pictures on the walls depicting the area for the last 100 years so stopping here for a drink or two just to look is well worth your effort. If you ride, this location has a biker friendly covered patio that just begs to take a break at. For my City friends.......you'll pass out when you see how cheap you can eat and drink so bring your juke box money and stop on by.
