I agree with the comment regarding Peoria’s offerings of Hotel Choices (There really are no excellent choices, so this is one of the best of the lot). The hotel is next to Pair-A- Dice casino and immediately across the bridge from downtown Peoria. Rates vary, but I booked early and got a Fri and Sat night for 89.00/night.
The good: Wireless is free, Breakfast is better than average ( Waffles, biscuits and gravy, yogurt, coffee, cereals, etc). The people, especially those tending the food are very nice. The new Serta Cloud Nine beds are great- extremely comfortable. We were in a king room with a pull out sofa. The room was adequate, not plush but fine.
The not so good: The gym and the pool are small. The rooms are starting to look a little beat up. Lobby seating for breakfast can get crowded on weekends, but they open a hospitality room on the first floor for over-flow seating.
Tips: there is no restaurant or bar, but both are available in the par-a-dice next door. Cab fare into Peoria is less than 10.00. The casino is worth a look, but smells of cigarettes.
