“Hot Water”

This place was disappointing for a Holiday Inn.

First, there is a dimly lit and hidden parking garage adjacent to the hotel, it is free for guests with validation.

Second, you better be able to take a shower in less than 5 minutes or like cold ones. The warm (not hot) water lasts approximately 3 minutes. This was a problem for the other three people in my group as well.

The hotel could use a renovation, the rooms are a little dark and dated. The bathrooms are tiny. My second floor room had a beautiful view of the parking deck and lobby roof. Oh yeah, and let's not forget the pigeons who attack your windows.

The staff however, are wonderful. When I asked for change to buy some water, they provided me with complimentary bottles. Check in and out were prompt and very friendly.

The Good: The staff, The place (In general), the Location. Many restaurants and shops are within reasonable distance of the hotel and they're nice establishments too.

The Bad: Slow Elevator (Take the stairs!) There's one computer for free public use so people are always waiting for it. There's also one washer/dryer so you may feel better to use the local laundromat.

Reconsider if you drive a large vehicle because we found parking very limited.

Check In and General Info: Stayed at this hotel because it was the host hotel for our Softball tournament. Check in was quick and easy. We were on the 7th floor, which was a blocked floor. Somewhat of a hassel, because you have to use your room key on the elevator to get to the 7th floor.

Rooms: Ok in size. Basic hotel room nothing special. Had a difficult time finding an outlet to charge the cell phones.

Beds: too small. Saggy mattress.

Bathroom: overall clean. NO HOT WATER!! Major problem. didn't have any hot water the whole day and it wasn't just our room. Atleast 5 other rooms on our floor was without hot water. Our toilet wouldn't flush either. Made a complaint with the front desk.

Overall stay was ok. Since we had such a bad experience the first night, we were upgraded to a suite, which was nice. I am a priorty club member and expected an upgrade with the problems we had. Very friendly staff and did what they could to make our stay enjoyable.

Recently stayed at this hotel on business. The room was comfortable. Two double beds, desk, high speed WIFI internet acesss ( for free ). The bed was comfortable, decor is a bit dated. TV was suitable. Room had alarm clock and iron/ironing board

Positives:
* Walking distance to downtown business offices
* Resonable room rates
* Walking distance to some ok food chains ( Bennigans located in Hotel), and Pizzeria Unos )
* Free parking in attached garage.
* Vending machine for drinks on each floor

Issues:
* There had clearly been a water leak earlier in the room. The ceiling of the shower had been patched and the patch was very noticable. The replaced drywall didn't match the hole.

* Shower curtain had some mold which could easy have been cleaned, since I washed it myself

* A/C unit was difficult to get to a nice temperture. I was either too cold or too warm.

* Rooms in general need of renotvations. Repairs have not been neatly done and its clear handiman are fixing items not tradesman.

The hotel is fine and I believe you would be comfortable for a short say. However, it is not up to the standards of some of the Marriott chains like "Courtyards/Fairfield Inns" or even Hilton's Hampton inn.

“Some great staff members”

Holiday Inn Peoria-City Centre

I stayed here on a OSF family rate due to the recent illness of my father. The desk staff and bellmen were wonderful to my mother and me while getting us back and forth to the hospital. Our room needed some mending, but was clean. There was one night where we without hot water and the heat took forever to come on. The Bennigan's staff was abrupt and I had one REALLY cold breakfast. Some of the even staff needed reminders that we were in need of assistance or supplies.
