Many of the reviews for this hotel are pretty ghastly, but most of those refer to what the place was like under its previous owners. Some of the more recent reviews are more favorable, and those reflect my experience much more than the reviews that are currently on the right hand margin of the page I'm typing on. The place has clearly been cleaned up and updated and everything worked properly. I expect that there were an assortment of problems during and after the changeover, but they now seem to have their act in order. The staff were fine, and I had no problems. There was a conference of some sort going on, but nothing really big, so I didn't see the place under maximum pressure, but I also saw nothing to justify the complaints I had read. The price was good, and I had wanted something within walking distance of the ballpark, so I was quite satisfied and would go back there.

Room Tip: Higher floors might have a better view.

We left instructions at Guest Services that all we needed in the room was coffee, tea, shampoo and soap. When arriving back in the evening everything was done EXCEPT coffee, tea, shampoo and soap. Again requested the same for the next day and upon arriving that evening, the door was ajar, no coffee, no tea, but did have shampoo and soap. ONCE AGAIN requested the same as the first day, and everything was done except coffee, tea, shampoo and soap. This same pattern continued until we left on Sunday morning. Six days and housekeeping could not get it right. We realized the hotel was full, however, they knew this was going to happen weeks ahead of time. One elevator was broken for almost three days and guests had to use the service elevator when hotel staff was using it as well.

For a Hotel Chain of this caliber, I felt like I was staying at a Quality Inn, and I have stayed at NICER Quality Inns! The place is run down, Elevator not working since last Friday so almost a week and the hotel is full and ppl have to use the service elevators, better off using the stairs than waiting a half hour for one. Front Desk Manager should be managing a Motel 6 with her personality because she doesn't belong at this class of hotel. I have MUCH MUCH more to say but I don't want to bore you with all the things that went wrong. All I can say is if this entire city wasn't full I would have checked out and went somewhere else. OH ya! and they say they have a pool and hot tub but they don't tell you that the hot tub is out of order!

Room Tip: If you CHOOSE to stay here ask for a room 6 floors or higher NOT facing the roof top of there inner...

First and last stay at this dump. Reception at the desk was horrifying! Driver was polite..Will? A warning to fellow business travelers as SPG Platinum members! Stay away! Front desk clerk was rude impolite and flat out mean! Turns out she was the MANAGER! What a scary thought! Irritable disposition to say the least! She was a shrew! We did meet a Robin housekeeping manager on the elevator who was delightful. Room was fine. No complaints in the rooms. Maintenance guy was nice too. Ordered food from a brand new menu that the kitchen didn't have! Five items! Close this restaurant please! Flies everywhere! Pool was closed! What a mess! Met the Sales Mgr Victoria or Virginia? Very sweet and asked us about our stay. I mentioned the horrible front desk, the food, and empty pool. She was very understanding and promised to take our concerns to her boss. She mentioned a renovation. Felt bad. I think we put her in tears or she was slicing onions on the elevator. In conclusion, some good people who cared, a bad one who didn't, and an old dilapidated product. My thoughts? Close this place down!

We stayed here for one night on points. Overall, the hotel needs a lot of updates - reminiscent of other Sheraton 4 Points properties prior to an upgrade. The room had a stale smell of smoke and was not in great shape. We stay in lots of hotels with our children and use the pull out couch - this one had lots of little nuggets under it...ditto with the carpet under the bed. Even if the room needs a refresh, it can still be cleaned satisfactorily.

The people were very nice and the pool was huge which was a nice bonus except the pool towels were extremely small. Breakfast buffet was average. It has a good location....next time I would be tempted to try the Embassy Suites across the river until an upgrade is completed.

We were in town for a family event so many of us stayed in this hotel.
On the plus side:
* The staff was efficient and welcoming.
* The shuttle driver was very kind and drove our large party to a local restaurant and picked us up later.
* It was well-located in downtown Peoria and within the walking distance to the Cornerstone Building for the wedding we attended.

On the minus side:
* The rooms were not well-cleaned. The mirror on the bathroom door was spotted with water or hairspray; the coffee tray was not cleaned on the second day and cups were not replaced.
* The fans on the air conditioner in our room sounded like a jet taking off so it wasn't a quiet atmosphere for sleeping.
* Other guests were very loud in the lobby area on more than one occasion--children and adults.

More attention to small details could go a long way towards improving the quality of services at this hotel.

I had a business lunch there (did not stay at the hotel). The food and service were both excellent. I also have heard that there is an all-new management team, and that they plan a $5M remodel/restoration of the hotel.
