“Finally a good Hotel Choice in Peoria”

Embassy Suites East Peoria

May 23, 2008

We stayed at this location in May early 2008 and it was a very good experience. Having a second child at Bradly we are been visiting the area for over 5 years. The hotel is new and very comfortable. The pool overlooks the river and it provides a nice view and outdoor area. I would, however suggest a few trees to block the Steak and Shake located immediately next door. We missed the evening reception but the Breakfast was very well done. The servers were all very hospitable and the cooked – to – order was one of the best I’ve seen at an Embassy suites. There is a very well equipped business center and the Fitness center is Excellent. By second choice in the area is the Hampton but this location is my favorite by far.
Book with confidence.

My husband and I just returned from a stay at the Embassy Suites this past weekend. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. In our opinion, the hotel was beautiful. Even better was the attitude of the staff. Everyone we encountered was very friendly. Steak n Shake was across the street and within walking distance were two restaurants: Granite City Food & Brewery and Logan's Roadhouse. Several other restaurants close by (within a short driving distance). If you like to try your hand at gambling, the Peoria riverboat was approximatey one mile away. Breakfast and manager's reception were included in the price of the room.

We were looking forward to our stay since this was a new hotel, and expected the room to be really nice and have excellent customer service as well.

I reserved a King Riverview suite (which is supposed to be significantly nicer and a bit larger than a standard), only to arrive and have the front desk tell me that my riverview suite was given away and I was stuck in a standard suite as far away from everything as you could get. Also put in a smoking request, so thought maybe I could get that since they GAVE my room to someone else, but they said they could not do that either and really did not apologize for any of it.

Hotel decor is not anything special. Color scheme is straight out of the 70's, from the ugly green carpeting to the ugly gold color walls. Breakfast was free, but everything was all dried out and not too good. Overall a big disappointment, and would not stay there again.

“Wonderful Experience!”

Embassy Suites East Peoria

Our experience at the Embassy Suites in Peoria was wonderful. The hotel just opened this past January and you can easily tell this by how modern and up to date the hotel is. From the beautiful atrium lobby to the hotel furnishings.

I cashed in miles and stayed at one of the suites, and the suite was the largest room that my husband and I have ever stayed at. We didn't request it, but we were given a corner executive suite and it was absolutely beautiful and very large. All of the rooms are suites, but this suite was larger and even more luxurious. It had panoramic views of the river that stretched from our bedroom to the living room. Of course - it being March, it wasn't the most beautiful, but I'm sure that when the season warms up it will be.

The suite had a fridge/microwave, as well as a flat screen TV in the bedroom and living room, and the furnishings all seemed very modern. The suite was also very clean. The bathroom was very large, and yes, we had the executive suite, but I still believe the regular suites would still be nice and large.

There is a manager's reception nightly - but we didn't partake it in the one night we were there. There is a free breakfast - cooked to order in the morning and it was great. They make fresh omelettes and waffles/pancakes for you. I had the special omelette of the day - tomato and basil with asiago cheese and it was great. They had several other items on the buffet, too - from potatoes, scrambled eggs, bacon and sausage to fresh fruit and cereals.

The hotel also had a pool/hot tub and an exercise room. We didn't use either, but both looked very nice. They also had a business center with free internet access (two PCs). It was nice not to be charged to do a quick check of our email. A simple thing - but still a nice feature when a hotel doesn't nickel and dime you for every little perk.

The hotel itself was right off the highway and very close to the Riverfront Walk/Center. It was a quick drive to the walk/restaurants. It would have been wonderful had there been a boat/launch to go from the Riverwalk straight to the hotel, but that's a bit too much to ask for, I think!

Overall - my husband and I had a great time the one night we were there. We would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone. They were very welcoming from the front desk (and the free fresh fruit in the front), to the hotel room, to the accomodations. This was our first trip to Peoria, but we would stay at this hotel the next time we are in the area!

We arrived to a beautiful lobby, easy check-in, a courteous bell boy and fresh fruit to ease our late afternoon hunger. The rooms are beautifully decorated, spacious, clean and incredibly quiet. The view from the windows (we had river views) was wonderful, even in the heart of winter. The beds, even the sofa bed and pilows are very comfortable. There is a manager's reception with cocktails and snacks (cheese and crackers, chips and salsa, pretzels, goldfish). There is a free shuttle to nearby restaurants, which was greatly appreciated in the cold. There is also a bar, small restaurant and coffee shop (serving Starbucks) off the lobby. The full cook-to-order breakfast is amazing. The food is plentiful, varied and delicious. The staff was friendly and helpful. I will absolutely stay again.
