We stayed two nights at the Radisson as part of a group (Oct 19/20), who booked the room. Our group all had small kids, and we changed to this hotel because of an indoor pool the kids could play in. So far so good.
The exterior of the hotel is very charming. The lobby is pretty, and the desk staff is accommodating and friendly. When we got to our room, we were surprised at how small it was. There was enough room for two full (not queen as we thought we'd get) beds, a small window that opened (but had no screen), and a nice sized desk and armoire with TV and drawers. The desk had a port for an internet cable, but no cable. The front desk provided a cable to me, but only to find out the Internet connection did not work. I understand there's wireless connectivity in the lobby and some rooms, but I did not attempt to use those alternatives. Typical hotel room. The bathroom, however, was very small. I could barely walk in to close the door to use the WC. The tub floor had anti-skid dots that were stained black. We put a towel on the tub floor before showering. My parents had the adjoining connecting room, and they had bugs in their bathroom.
Maid service was friendly, but forgot to replenish our towels (we were 2 adults/2 kids), but a call to the front desk got towels sent up quickly. Toilet backed up easily too.
Outside of the hotel, the street that dead ends at the property (Moss) had some of the nicest homes and property I've seen in Central Illinois. That was a sight to see.
I cannot recommend this hotel, and I'm surprised that it's a Radisson. As others have commented, I'd have expected more from that brand. Also I learned it was a Jumer's. I am familiar with the Urbana Jumers from 20 years ago, and it was a great hotel. Sad to say this does not meet our expectations.
Should we return to Peoria, I'll look for another alternative.
