I've heard about this place every since I moved here a few years ago and finally stopped in this weekend. It was dark and completely tacky like any hole in the wall would be, and smelled like the family owned pizza joint where I worked in college (yes, that's a good thing). Good crowd but not insane. Given how people can be, I'll bet that if they ever tried to remodel the regulars would have a fit - there's something comforting about a place that hasn't changed in as long as you can remember.
The waitress was friendly, and the pizza was good. Not quite what this Jersey girl grew up with, but good flavor. I especially liked the sausage (had a special + pepperoni).
We also had the individual salads - I was surprised that it was iceberg lettuce only; I'd hoped for a tomato slice and maybe a bit of onion or something. The house oil & vinegar had a good flavor, but I won't be ordering a $2.50 bowl of iceberg again.
I would definitely go back, I'd just skip the salad. These kinds of places are becoming all too rare, support your local businesses!
