“Wonderful stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 9, 2012

Bill and Stephanie have found their true calling. One could not ask for more friendliness and better service. From their warm greeting on arrival, to the warm cookies in the room, through to the fabulous, delicious breakfast, everything was wonderful. The inn itself is immaculate and the decor charming but not overdone. We reserved room 5 with the king sized bed, and it was perfect. The only thing that could improve this place is if they were on a large property on a secluded street, which alas they are not. They are, however, conveniently located in town to shops and the antique mall, and nothing is very far away. We went to the area to walk in the nearby parks and enjoy nature, and our little overnight vacation was well worth it because of our stay in the Patchwork Inn. We also asked for restaurant recommendations, and Stephanie told us of the various options. We too opted for the Italian and had a fantastic meal. We plan to return in warmer weather and look forward to staying there again!

We stayed one night for a night away from home. The breakfast was great, and Bill and Stephanie were beyond friendly and helpful. They helped us choose a restaurant, made us reservations, and even mailed back my phone charger that I'd inadvertently left in the room.

Downtown Oregon is a little bit sad if you are used to a big city, but we did go to one of the state parks, and we also went to a really good Italian restaurant. The Inn tries to be eco-friendly, and uses local foods, coffees, soaps and amentities. A fine place to stay if you need to be in Oregon.

Stayed 2 nites while going to a wedding at White Pines Park. Bill's french toast was fantastic. The room was full of antiques (including two old Singer sewing table converted to night stands).
The history was apparent and available. Stairs were steep, but Bill & Stephanie almost insisted on carrying in and UP our luggage. A refrigerator was available, a nice plus for us travelers to store lunches & ice. The homemade cookies on arrival were delicious. Don't know if or when we'll be back in Oregon IL, but if we get anyplace close, we'll stay at Patchwork Inn.

We stayed at the Patchwork Inn while doing "The Thunder Rolls," adventure race in Oregon, Il. We are a team of three guys, not your standard bed and breakfast go-ers but the owners didn't mind at all. They have great common space that we used to spread out our maps and plan our race. When we checked in they told us about breakfast and we told them we would have to be up and gone by 4:30 a.m. and wouldn't have a chance to try it. The owners made us "to go" bags with bacon sandwiches on amazing homemade bread, a side of fruit, and there was hot coffee for us when we left hours before daylight. The service is unbelievable, we are all going back with our wives in the future. Anything less than an excellent review for this place is not fair.

While visiting relatives in the area, we stayed 5 nights at Patchwork Inn. The Inn has new owners, Bill & Stephanie, since our last stay 3 years ago. We were so pleased to find that they have maintained the historic quaintness we'd come to appreciate when staying there in summers past. In addition they've added many new amenities to a make it even more attractive & convenient, such as plush queen beds, wall-mounted HD TVs in eco-friendly, spotlessly clean premises. Our hosts provided gourmet breakfasts each morning & made every effort to "spoil" us. We look forward to a return stay at the Inn next year. You'll find it a memorable experience if you choose to visit the Inn ....especially if you're a history/antique buff.

This is a quaint B&B with limited rooms. Lincoln literally slept here. There are new innkeepers (since about June 2010) who are super-nice and accomodating. The breakfasts were excellent. They are working on upgrading all the rooms. Many amenities like microwave popcorn and pop for guests plus candy bars in the room. On it's way up.
