stayed here with the family for ten days, the owner is very kind, the rooms are clean and nice, the food is truly wonderful!
The only minus I found was the temperature of the showers, I prefer a bit hotter myself, but in general it was fine.

we've had lunch here several times in last few years, during summer camping nearby in Slovenia, just across the Kolpa river. They have very good mushroom soup and roasted veal, although they are mostly known for deer and wild boar stew and roast. Nice, cosy countryside hotel, suitable for outdoor living enthusiasts.

We werent in the hotel, we just came to the restaurant because we heard it was really good. We were very disappointed. The soup was from the bag with few mushrooms added and they weren't even cut properly. Main dishes were ok, deserts were truly terrible. Blueberry pie was disgusting, when I ordered cappuccino I got cappuccino from the bag and they just added foam on top + the waiter spilled it while bringing it to me and didn't even apologise. We were offered only one sort of wine. The wine they brought tasted acidic. When I asked the waiter to bring us the bill so we could pay, he didn't. We waited for 20 minutes and then asked the owner and only then we got the bill. Waiter himself was painfully slow. Would NOT reccomend going there.

Hotel looks very nice and sitting outside was very pleasant. It was day of apples in Brod na Kupi on Sunday 2nd of October, so we asked for apple pie but it was sold out already. A good sign, it must have been very good so they ran out of it early in the afternoon.
We were proposed to order blueberry pie ,but what we got was a pie with just several berries , rest was of some red fruits. The crust was burnt (black) .
I got the answer that the black colour came of blueberries!!!!! There was no excuse! If only he admitted it and said that he was sorry, I would not have written this review.
I make sweets very often and know very well how burnt dough looks like and how bitter it tastes.
Btw, It was the most expensive blueberry pie we ever had in the area.
On the other hand the waiter was polite and helpful to all the guests

Hotel Mance is in the village of Brod Na Kupi right on the border of Croatia and Slovenia. Indeed it is yards from the border post. I and two of my adult sons stayed here in the autumn of '08 for a fly-fishing trip to the River Kupa, amongst others, on both sides of the border. The hotel is simple, unpretentious, clean and welcoming. The hospitality of Mr & Mrs Mance should be an example to all hoteliers. Our plane was late but they stayed up beyond midnight to welcome us with a hearty meal and that set the tone for our stay. Breakfast feasts, superb packed lunches and excellent meals in the evening. Mr Mance has a good selection of Croatian and regional wines and generously gave one of my sons a sommelier set ! And the fishing was great too !

We were looking for a place to stay while exploring family roots in the Gorski Kotar region of Croatia. We stumbled upon Hotel Mance based on excellent reviews by fly fishermen. The Kupa River that flow on the border between Croatia and Slovene is known for fly fishing. The Mance is right at the border crossing and made for a perfect location since we had ancestors in both Croatia and Slovenia (Kostel). From the welcoming cocktail to the farewell dinner, everything was perfect. The rooms were luxurious and spacious. The meals were out of this world! Early morning coffee or lunch on the outdoor patio made the experience complete. Everything was excellent and we are looking forward to visiting there again!
