I highly recommend Harvey House to anyone who is looking for a B&B to stay at that is near the city but not in the city. Beth was extremely flexible and accomidating. Her breakfasts were divine and there was no need to eat any other time during the day until evening when a delicious treat awaited you in the kitchen! She was easy to reach and communicate with at all hours of the day and was very knowlegable about Oak Park and the surrounding areas!

The Harvey House is a treasure. I just stayed there with 4 friends for a "girl's weekend" and we all fell in love with Harvey House and it's owner Beth. One could not ask for more in a B an B. Beth Harvey is amazing. I have never seen such a generous B and B owner. She truely wants to make your stay special. The breakfasts are to die for and the rooms are lovely, clean and very well priced. The location is a very easy walk to the train into the city or to Oak Park dining and attractions.

My husband & I stayed at the Harvey House for three nights at the end of May 2007.
We have stayed at many small inns and BBs and have to say that HH exceeded our highest expectations.
Beth (the owner) is a gourmet chef, who delivers the most beautiful breakfasts that we have ever received at a BB. We were so full every day, that we never ate again until late in the day. Delicious! She was constantly baking up a storm and each night, we returned to a warm cake or brownies, awaiting guests in the kitchen. Talk about a treat!

Additional highlights included Aveda amenities, comfy novaform pillows with amazing linens, deep soaker bathtubs, snickers bars & bottled water, 24-hr computer use, etc.

Walking distance to the L is short, and we saw the entire city via the easy-to-navigate system. A three-day pass gave us ready access to all major attractions and neighborhoods.

We met the most wonderful people at this BB. Breakfasts would last well over an hour, as we chatted with the other visitors and shared stories. There was a real warmth here and a sense of home, that we haven't experienced elsewhere.
We give the HH a major five star rating and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a special spot to stay in Chicago!

My husband and I and our 12-year old son stayed at this exceptional Bed and Breakfast for a week during our recent Spring Break trip to Chicago. We look for inns and bed and breakfasts when we travel, and we were DELIGHTED to find The Harvey House. The Harvey House is located in historic Oak Park, and it is truly an exceptional lodging experience.

The Harvey House has been beautifully decorated, with great attention given to detail; thoughtful ammenities are everywhere.
Beth Harvey, her daughter Claire, Beth;s sister, Cindy, and the housekeeper, Maria, could not do enough to make sure we had a wonderful stay. The breakfasts are delicious and generous; there is no need to eat lunch during your sightseeing day. The guest kitchen is always stocked with wine, soft drinks, and homemade treats. The location of the inn is within walking distance of the rail station; it is a 15 minute trip to downtown Chicago by rail. We especially appreciated the use of a computer and printer to map out our daily jaunts.

Althougth the weather was windy and cold during the week we visited, our stay at The Harvey House was cozy and warm. We felt rested and pampered when we returned to Atlanta from our vacation. We hope to return in the near future.
