A few summers ago, I spent 3 days at the Cheney House, and I was enchanted. I'm planning on returning over Christmas; Oak Park is a lovely town, and staying at the Cheney House was a quiet, refreshing way to explore this vibrant community. The history of the house lends a personal note to the typical tour experience; the house is quite private, with only 2 suites for visitors, both of which have 2 bedrooms. Even the light fixtures were done by Wright. This is an opportunity to live WITHIN a Wright home, not just LOOK at one. I'm excited to return.
