“The nicest hotel room I've ever stayed in!”

The Hyatt Lodge at McDonald's Campus

We stayed at the Hyatt Lodge on 4/9, thru a Priceline bid. What a steal! This hotel is in a heavily wooded, park-like setting with severals ponds. Parking is a bit inconvenient, but free and the area is quite safe (or you can use the valet for like $14, but I wouldn't bother - the walk to the lot is probably the equivalent of a city block. Perhaps I'd feel differently in the winter!) Check in was a breeze; no mention of Priceline booking, our request for a non-smoking king room was gladly accommodated. Our room was in the section of the hotel that was furthest away from the front desk - we were in the Hyatt Gold Passport section and it surprised me that they'd make their best customers walk so far. But I got over the long walk very quickly when I saw the room. It was beautifully renovated - light colored wood/laminate furnishings, nice big desk; platform bed with premium linens and lightweight down comforter. Did I mention the 27" LCD televisions? The bathroom vanity (separate from tub/toilet) had double sinks, granite tops and Kohler fixtures, along with lighted magnifying mirror and a blow dryer. Much to my surprise, our sliding door opened to a lovely, peaceful wooded view, not a parking lot. I felt like we were miles away from home at a 4* resort! This hotel should definitely get a higher star rating than 3*. We did not visit the restaurants or use room service so I can't comment on them. We were planning on indulging on breakfast from room service, but the bed was SO comfortable I decided I'd rather sleep some more instead of eating. After sleeping til after 11AM, we requested and were granted a 2PM check-out, which gave us time to use the pool and hot tub. Another long walk, but well worth it. The beautifully maintained pool is huge, as is the hot tub. The ceiling of the enclosure is mostly glass, allowing light to pour into the facility. It made it feel like we were outside even though it was a warm, indoor facility.

I highly recommend this hotel - we have already booked another stay. I can honestly say that the Hyatt.com rate (usually $99 or more) would be more than a fair price for this lovely property. The only real drawback to staying here is the way the property is spread out - but if you don't mind a little brisk walk now and then, you'll love this place.

“Hyatt Lodge ROCKS!”

The Hyatt Lodge at McDonald's Campus

It has been some time that I stayed at a Hyatt and boy what a surprise awaited me when I stayed at the Hyatt Lodge on the McDonald's Hamburger University Campus. With a recent rooms renovation that was completed in March, I felt like I was staying in a mini-suite. The decor is updated and tastefully done for the business/pleasure traveler. On top of that I was in shock when I saw a 30" flat panel TV screen in my room. The staff from the housekeepers on my floor to the service staff in both restaurants were extremely pleasant and sincere.

For those of you who like to swim, the 23 yard pool is geared for the serious swimmer complete with lane lines on either side of the pool and kickboards for your use. Kickboards available in a business hotel?? That attention to detail just blew me away. In the middle of the pool there is a large volleyball net. The locker rooms are like being in a private health club complete with a centrigugal machine to remove the water from your bathing suit! The excercise and cardio room are updated and clean.

As a foodie, both the casual and upscale restaurants were fantastic and I truly enjoyed the "tapas" style entrees with the upscale restaurant's philospohy of sharing your entrees with others. From my previous stays at Hyatts in Hawaii and in the mainland, the cost/value for meals at the restaurants were always a turn-off. Well, let me say, that was not the case at this location. At their upscale restuarant, I ordered a pizza, small chicken breast with potato garnish and a salad for approximately $21 not including tip or drink.

On my last day, I truly did not want to leave this hidden gem!

“Super Size my Hotel”

The Hyatt Lodge at McDonald's Campus

Paid $33 per night on priceline for for a grand total of 5 nights - with multiple rooms
Hotel was great, I'm an easy touch, but this was really Nice, Better than the last 4* Hyatt that I stated in.
Staff was friendly, no mention of priceline, and were accommodating to our room requests.
The hotel is Strange in that is in McDonald's Corporate headquarters(I would not recommend watching the movie "Super Size Me" Before staying there) I talking to the Staff I was able to discern that the Hotel was built in 1984 But was only opened to the public 2 years ago, before that was run by McDonalds for Corporate Exec's and Hamburger University attendees,
Which explains the rooms a little bit, Rooms with 2 double beds are larger than the Rooms with single King beds, In the Double rooms there are two huge desks built into the walls, and a lot of stores for clothes ect in the desk consoles, and a very small TV built in to the hutch,
The king rooms are a bit smaller but have larger TV's more Modern telephones, Alarm clocks, CD player, ect..
I guess originally the Doubles were for Students at Hamburger University and Kings we for Corp Exec's and Guests,
Beds were great with down comforters and mattress pads, and all rooms have a small balcony,
Bath rooms were nice with Double sinks q-tips, lotion, soap, ect.. Bath tubs and shower were average,
Rooms were clean and was left a complementary fruit basket with bottled water for parents anniversary on our final night.

Indoor Pool area was really nice with a Extra Large hot tub, but good walk to get to, Nice dressing room with a cool centrifugal force bathing suit drier (first time I have ever seen one), sauna, and steam room, Was only hotel guests on the weekend, but on Monday there we a lot of naked McDonald Exec's in the Locker room and Sauna,
The hotel is on a Small Lake with a nice patio for the restaurant overlooking the lake, ate breakfast on the patio and feed the ducks and fish the leftovers,
complementary paddle boats are under the patio on the dock, the bell boy will unlock them and provide you with life jackets, you can also fish on the lake if you bring your own equipment, My Dad and Daughter caught several bluegills and carp, and some bass we sighted,
Mountain bike and tandem bike rentals are also available though the hotel, for the bike trail around the hotel's 88 aches of woods,
Hotel is very secluded and a bit hard to find, but close to the Mall.

Hotel gift shop only features McDonalds branded Items, All the art work in the Hotel is custom commissioned McDonalds themed, Featuring Ronald McDonald, Hamburgler,
Ect.. Very unsettling, but strangely compelling,
Surprisingly the Hotels 2 Restaurants did not sell McDonald's Food, But were Both good and Reasonably priced
One Italian, one Deli/cafeteria style.

Only con - Valet Parking is $10 , and the free parking lot is about a 1/2 block walk from the hotel

Super Hotel with Lots Of Extras almost resort quality.

“A good hotel”

The Hyatt Lodge at McDonald's Campus

I got a great deal on this hotel through a name your own price website. The hotel is in the process of being renovated. I stayed in one of the newly renovated guest rooms, which was very nice and completely new. The bathroom was quite spacious. The staff wasn't very helpful or friendly. The only problem with this hotel is that the self parking area is quite remote and isolated, located down some stairs behind the hotel. I didn't feel safe parking there, and if I were a woman, I certainly wouldn't have parked there at all.
