I have stayed here before it was a Marriott, and was looking forward to staying now, because I usually enjoy Marriotts. But the first thing that happened was they said they had no rooms, even though our group was booked for several months, and planned to spend well over $100,000 there I was shipped to the Marriott in Okabrook, about 15 minutes away, an okay place, but then I had to come back the next day because my 3 day event was at Oakbrook Hills. Two of our people from Canada got booted when I did, and luckily I had a car to drive us over, so we didn't have to take their makeshift shuttle. Oh, they were apologetic , but they still did it, to about a dozen people in our group, and never gave me an answer to why. I was very embarrassed for my company, whose invited guests had been turned away.
Of course, this left a bitter taste for the remainder of the visit. and I never really overcame it. Will I stay there again? Not on my dime, and it left me feeling bad about the entire Marriott chain.
