“Great burger and crisps.... and the salad bar isn't too shabby either!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 27, 2013

We were major fans of the Original CC in the city and then up north for years.... and for some reason it took a long time before heading back..... big mistake because I really enjoyed the Motherlode and the salad bar....

We ordered drinks and our waiter was skilled enough to give us time..... and when we ordered - burgers and the salad bar - he held our burger order until he checked back with us as we progressed with our salads - VERY nice touch..... the salad bar was interesting - nearly impossible to reach the offerings way back from the front of their immense sneeze shield (something noticeably lacking at nearby Pinstripes in the same suburb) - I actually had to help our 5'1" friend reach the artichoke hearts and caprese salad (yup the best stuff was way back...). Nonetheless, it was well stocked with great fresh options and was well tended to by staff.

Our burgers arrived as ordered - and too large to finish..... great toppings offered and nice bun choices. Our order was cooked perfectly and delivered hot - along with some very hot chips..... just as in the old days.

Only complaint was the waiter got busy, forgot us and didn't bring the check - we actually had to get it from him at the bar - and walk it to our table ourselves? Dumb move because other than referring to my friend as 'Boss', he'd done a great job of pacing the meal.

Other nearby burger options include Beinlich's but I'd return here next time I wanted a really good burger!

“***Always consistent***”

We have not been here in years and remain delighted. The burgers remain great and we love the salad bar. There used to be one in Lincoln Park in Chicago.

“Best Salad Bar in the US”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 23, 2013

I was in Chicago for a funeral and had the opportunity to have dinner at the Claim Company. It is a must stop for me as the salad bar is the best I have found in America. A nice variety of fresh vegetables, pasta salads, nuts, wasabi peas, crackers, fruit, etc. The prices have done up through the years, but are still +/- reasonable. Wait can be a little long (and longer than advertised), but still worth the trip.

“First time visit”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 26, 2013

Other than the usual wait for a table, this was great for a saturday evening. I had the pulled chicken and it was awesome. My friend had the fajita and he enjoyed his meal too. the wait staff was available and didn't rush us.

“Just OK”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 25, 2013

We met up with some friends here that we hadn't seen in years. It was difficult to have a conversation due to the volume of the music and patrons. I ordered a burger medium well and it came to the table rare. The waiter was needed a personality transplant - no conversation just took the burger back and brought a new one without a word. Food was ok. 2 drinks 4 entrees was $73.00 plus tip.
