“New Hotel - Very Nice - all the featurs of a Hampton Inn”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 21, 2009

Since this hotel is new, all was in great shape and very nice. In a great location, can walk to shopping and eating! The room layout (King) was very nice. The microwave oven - is placed near the bed, so had to block the light from the clock to sleep at night, I think that is a room configuraiton of many Hampton Inns. Hotel staff very friendly. No shuttle to the airport, which we needed. Maybe as more guests request such a service it will be added.

Thank you for the great review, glad that you had a nice stay. Sorry that we could not satisfy your shuttle need to the airport. We do not have a high demand for its use so it is not 24 hours. I hope that the next time you visit Bloomington/Normal we can accommodate you again.

I reserved a double queen room for myself and 3 friends for one night. Check-in was quick and easy and there was no wait for the elevators. It seemed to know we were coming and would open before we even pushed the button. The room was immaculate. It was warm when we got there, but as soon as we kicked up the ac, it cooled right down. The location was nice by the Shoppes at College Hills. There are lots of choices of restaurants in the area and the hotel has a snack shop open 24 hours where they also sell frozen meals for the microwave in the room. The room also had a fridge. We didn't use the exercise room, pool, or hot tub, but they looked okay, although a bit small. We could hear a small child next to our room, but for as loud as I think he was screaming, it didn't seem that loud in our room. I think the walls had decent soundproofing. Breakfast in the morning was fabulous. Lots of choices including hot/cold, healthy/not-so-healthy, etc. We had a great stay and I highly recommend the Hampton Inn.

The employees are super friendly and helpfull. Breakfast was exelent.
Rooms are Comfortable and all up to date. Plasmas TV and granite counters. Minifridge and microwave a plus. Free internet.
The beds are super Comfortable
Only downside is pool is quite small but anything is good for kids to take a dip.
Fitness room and hot tub right next to the pools so you can see your kids while you relax or workout.

We were in town for the Special Olympics as my 9 year-old daughter was competing and we chose this hotel for the ratings on tripadvisor, availability, and proximity to ISU campus. For the price ($107), everyone was happy including my parents and my in-laws. The hotel got us rooms all next to each other, the pool kept the kids happy (though small we were the only ones in it), and the breakfast had something to offer everyone (fresh fruit, yogurt, muffins, bagels, eggs, etc). The hotel was clean and the front desk was very accommodating. We wanted to check-in early so we could drop our stuff of and leave for the competition and they bent over backwards to make sure the room was clean. My only complaint would be that the halls were noisy past 10:00 pm with crying kids ,etc. and it was hard to get to sleep right away. The hotel was walking distance to a wonderful restaurant called Destihl Restaurant and Grill. We just happened to eat there because of its proximity and couldn't believe the quality of food and the prices. Being from Chicago, we would have expected to pay twice what we did. I highly recommend the cedar-plank chicken and the pot roast sandwich. We even snuck in some shopping at Gordman's and Von Maur is right around the corner, too. There really isn't any reason not to stay here if you are a family! Not a vacation destination but definitely a pleasantly surprising experience.

I stay in only about 4-5 Hampton Inn's per year in my nearly 150 nights on the road as I prefer full service Hilton's or Westin's, etc., but during a recent trip to Bloomington, IL I had no such choices and gave this a try. I was in a two room suite, room 511 and was very pleasantly surprised. This suite has two bathrooms and is either new or was very recently refurbished. The living room area was very large and had a 41 inch LG set WITH HD programming (I hate it when they have a HD set without the programming). The bedroom had a similar LG HD set and the larger bathroom had both a walk in shower and a tub.

This is a very nice hotel in a very good location (if you have to be in Bloomington/Normal). The only negative is the breakfast which was pretty low end--much lower than your typical Embassy Suites.

Bottom line is that for this area this is about as good as you are going to get and I'd highly recommend it.

The hotel is newer, bright, big and beautiful. The breakfast was hot with a variety of foods each day, not just the normal cold fare. We especially enjoyed walking from the hotel to a number of shops in the nearby mall and enjoying ice cream at a fantastic little store in the strip malls adjacent to the hotel. There is plenty of shopping closeby and a beautiful little park about a mile away. We found our stay to be refreshing and restful. Pack some earplugs, the comments about thin walls was an issue as we could clearly hear the banging of doors in the hallway and the conversations in the room next door.
