I spent one night in this hotel to break up a long highway trip.
I asked for a quiet, non-smoking room and was given one on the back side of the building that overlooked a parking lot, on a floor that has many rooms where smoking is allowed. It was quiet, and except by the door my room did not smell of smoke, but the hallway, elevator and stairwells were unbearably smelly. The stench even extended to the first floor by the lobby. The halls obviously were unventilated. I look forward to Illinois joining the sensible states that have outlawed all smoking in hotels.
The room had a desk with a very uncomfortable, worn-out side chair, not a desk chair. There also was a large square table and one additional uncomfortable chair, which didn't really fit into the small room, but I was able to move the table into a corner. The room did not have a refrigerator or microwave, but it did have a nice big shower.
The hotel is in an area with a very wide variety of places to eat, many within walking distance.
The free wifi was extremely slow. A speed test reported 300-400Kbits (not bytes) per second download and 100Kbits upload speed. A sign-on screen tried to get me to give my email address, but it was not required to use the network.
Were it not for the unbreathable air, I would have considered this a reasonable budget hotel (I paid $60 including tax for one queen bed, the AARP rate). However, the noxious, unventilated hallways have ensured that I will never, ever return.

We would like to thank you for taking your time to fill out a survey. We are in the process of upgrading our internet to super fast speeds. We do apologize if there was any hint of smoke in the hallways, we are looking for ways to ensure guests never have to smell smoke when smoking rooms open doors.
