This hotel was under construction when I stayed there over Labor Day in 2007. It appeared that they were converting to a Ramada Inn but there were no signs of construction when I was there.

City center hotels were selling close to $300 for that weekend, I got a great deal on Site 59 and only need a place near O Hare to crash for a few hours. To that end, the hotel served it's purpose. It was a litttle out of the way, but it only took me ten minutes to get the airport in light traffic.

I'm not sure how the housekeeping department sourced their guestroom supplies. The hand soap was from Days Inn while the bath soap was Ramada Brand. I suspect that the owner has other Cendant properties from which he sources supplies.

Public space was in desperate need of renovation and the guest rooms were marginally better. They were tidy. As a bonus, the internet was free and the wake up call on time, which I did not expect. Staff performed well, especially given the condition of the hotel.

I probably would have been upset if I was relocated to this hotel, but I knoew what I was getting into before hand so it was fine.

“the Shining”

It was scary. I was the only person in the whole hotel. The halls and lobby were so cold that you could see your breath. Marlene at the front desk tried to bundle up in clothes as much as possable, but still showed signes of illness from the conditions at the hotel.
I stayed here becase it was so close to my house, and my wife and I are seperated, but I could still visit my kids.

The owner of this place should be brought up on charges of human suffarage for what he put the employees through, and me!

“rundown crappy motel”

I stayed at this motel using an airport voucher due to a missed flight. This was absolutely the worst motel I've ever stayed in! This place is rundown and the owners must be cutting costs as much as possible. The shuttle from the airport took forever (>1hr) and the first sign that things were very wrong is that the van was a Days Inn van, but the hotel isn't that any more. Also the van side step was broken and made it difficult to even get in the van! We arrived at the motel and found that the a/c was "broken" in the lobby. (It's 90+ degrees in Chicago right now!) Check in was fine. The elevator was rundown and dirty but then the long walk to the room down a narrow hallway stinking of disinfectant! All of the room numbers are hand painted or not matching. My room was large and seemed clean, but was SO HOT! The a/c was off so it was about 90 degrees in there and it took forever to cool off! I had two thin towels, one bar of soap and a 1/2 empty shampoo bottle in the bathroom. YUCK, yuck, yuck. Don't stay here unless the airline forces you to!
Other cons, no breakfast, no restaurant, no giftshop, no pool (see previous posters photos-it still looks exactly like that).

“Disgusting”

We arrived at the hotel at apporximately 11:30 pm. We were given our keys. We get up to our room and find it to be missing two towels (we had 4 people in the room which the staff was aware of). I called to the front desk to ask for towels and was told they were coming up to our room. They never came.
The staff was rude and seemed confused.
The complimentary breakfast consisted of bagels and hot water. When asked to provide some kind of juice or cold water, they put out a small pitcher of water that was luke warm.
My friends sheets and towels were stained and dirty. This hotel is no longer owned by Ramada, so that is false advertising. They claim they are remodeling but nothing was in sight suggesting they were going to remodel.
I would never stay here again nor encourage anyone to. From looking at the outside, you would think that the place was out of business.
Check out the pictures.

“No longer a Ramada”

Holiday Inn Chicago - Mt Prospect

Mar 23, 2007
5/5 found this review helpful

This is a very old hotel, which was a Ramada until recently. The new name may be US Hotel. In any case it is likely not to be a hotel in which you would like to stay. The rooms are not maitained, the location has nothing to offer , other than being close to a tiny shopping mall, Randhurst and walking distance to a Home Depot. The Glenview Courtyard to Farifield Inn are less than 4 miles away and are nicer properties. ( Euclid turns into Lake as you travel east)
