“Good place to take the kids”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 30, 2012

I am not too happy that they are now charging to get into the
pumpkin patch. We have never had to pay before. They have
a really really neat pumpkin shooter that shoots the pumpkins
at an old car that is out in the field. They have many things for
the kids including a huge bin of corn kernals. They also have
fresh vegtables and baked pies

Thank you for your review. Good News! The pumpkin ride is included in your paid admission, OR, if you are not doing the all day attractions and just want a ride to the patch, you can now do that as well and just pay $1 for the hayride to and from the patch. (Note: cost of your pumpkin is separate). You also do not have to wait in line to pay the $1 wagon ride. For the convenience of our guests, the wagon driver collects payment right at the wagon when you board. We trust this change will be of great benefit to all our guests. We appreciate your feedback

“disappointing”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed October 22, 2012

Going to a pumpkin patch with grandkids and their parents sounded great. Unfortunately, if you have to go to the bathroom while there, you wait in line for a good 20 minutes. I did this 2 times (kids and adults do not have the urges at the same time). However, IF you buy the $10/person tickets to get in to do rides which allows you to be able to spend more money to purchase food, then thinking there may be more porta potties. For us to do that for 8 people, that would be $80 plus the cost of any food or other things!. Have come here before and there was not this problem. Others discussed it as we stood in line forever. Not gonna return.

We are sorry to hear of you unfavorable experience. We take guest feedback to heart and try to make adjustments and improvements where possible. Since your review in 2012 we have added more porta potties. We also have a distinct 'paid' area and 'free' area so you can now access all the food vendors without having to pay admission should you just want to come eat and hang out on the farm. If crowds are a concern, we suggest maybe avoiding the last 2-weeks in October as these are typically the most heavily attended weekends, especially if we have an Indian summer day. Thank you for your review and for helping us continue to improve our service to the community.

“NOT ANYMORE! EXPENSIVE! EXPENSIVE! EXPENSIVE!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed October 22, 2012

Imagine the SHOCK of visiting a favorite place with the family and finding an unpleasant addition...

$10 per person charge, when it used to be free.

So we're driving to get pumpkins and get suprised by paying $50 up front to walk into what used to be a free farm.

They've added some simple rides and "included" them in the entrance fee. But none of them are of interest to adults, even high school kids. So suddenly you're dropping BIG BUCKS on what used to be a pleasant family outing. And you're going to buy food, drinks and pumpkins as usual.

There had to be, there still are, thousands of families finding how much more expensive this experience is, after arriving.

In this economy, the farm is GOUGING families like this? Way to create bad blood and guarantee a huge drop in business in 2013. So shortsighted will leave Stade short on cash next year.

If you don't want to spend a hundred or two hundred dollars to buy your Halloween pumpkins, it's time to look at another place.

We are sorry to hear of your experience. Stade's Farm was on a ticket system in the past and there was a cost for attractions. There were a few select free attractions as well. The current one price admission actually includes over 25 attractions, including a zip line, corn shooters and a giant slide that appeals to all ages. We divided the park in 2013 to offer a paid admission and a free admission area. This has been very favorably received. You can come purchase meals from the onsite vendors, get kettle corn, enjoy the farm, and even attend some stage events in the free area. If you'd like a hayride to and from the pumpkin patch, it is only $1 per person to ride and then the cost of your pumpkin. Those desiring to enjoy the all day 25+ attractions can enter the admission gate. Admission includes a free ride to and from the pumpkin patches. So you now have a choice of either/or. We apologize for your unfavorable experience and thank you for your feedback. This has allowed us to make improvements and keep Stade's Farm as a favored agritourism destination. We welcome you and your family back any time.

“No, not so much..”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 8, 2012

We waited a bit long is the season to order our pickling pickles, lost over 10 lbs. to slimy pickles. When we returned them, the counter girl was quite rude. We do much better at Von Bergens. Their corn at Stades is good during high season, other than that more money and less value...

We are sorry to hear that you were not treated with a smile and kind reply. Stade's trains and hires personnel who know how to address the customer yet it is feedback such as yours that allows us to continue making improvements and addressing issues that may arise with employees. Please accept our apologies for and rudeness you encountered. This should not have been your experience and we are sorry.

“Fresh but limited.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 20, 2012

It's worth the drive because I'm fairly close. They have a limited selection but what they have is fresh and delicious. Kentucky tomatoes, Michigan melons and Melrose peppers were stand outs for me in July.

Thank you for your feedback. Yes, there is a limited supply in the early months (May through mid-July) as many crops are still maturing. We grow most of our produce right here at Stade's farm and harvesting is always contingent on weather condition. The market is generally a cornucopia of fruits and vegetables August through October. We have a production calendar on our website you can check out to see what is in season and we also publish this in our e-newsletter. Please never hesitate to phone the market as well to see what is in season. Thank you for visiting Stade's Farm & Market.
