Our room was fine, typical Hampton Inn quality and cleanliness. The carpet butted up right to the door giving it the slightest resistance but kept the hallway noise away.
They had an impressive snack room to purchase items. All kinds of frozen dinners, ice cream, hot pockets, candies and chips.
Plenty of outlets for all our gadgets.
We had a smoking room and it did not smell bad and even had an ashtray in the bathroom.
The shower was extra tall and pressure was soft, my sweetie found it great because he is tall but at my height the water was much softer for me.
Did not use pool, was small but clean as expected.
Beds comfortable as usual.
Curtains closed tightly for darkness and overall a quiet hotel.
Now at breakfast, we went down early, before eight and the hotel seemed fairly quiet. We grabbed the last sausage, no eggs were there and everything else was low. The attendant saw us and said "its coming" so we sat down. Now, I am not sure how long it takes to heat some pre cooked sausage but we waited almost 10 minutes for more food to come out. That feels like a long time when you are hungry. In the end we filled our agitated bellies.
Upon check out I did complain and my bill was slightly adjusted, but what really irked me was that the front desk clerk and I made eye contact at least 5 times while waiting for the food and I think he knew were waiting because we kept going back and checking under the lids. I think if he had come over and approached us and even offered to check on it for us I would have never even complained. That's what I expect at Hampton Inns.
Perhaps the attendant was having a bad day, and I understand that, but that early in the morning there should be more food and had I been there with children I would be mighty upset. Hopefully this review can bring some attention to the breakfast area so the next traveler can have a great experience from start to finish.
Close to Volo Auto museum and they even offer a discount if you are going to the museum.
