Spent 3 days at the Hampton Inn Mattoon , Ill. If all Hampton Inns are this well mantained I will always book my stays there. The rooms were immaulate as well as the staff . Everything about my stay was wonderful. The bedding was out of this world. Can not say enough about how great my stay was.

I stayed at this hotel in December 2007 and it was, put put it nicely, tired.

Everything in the room appeared clean, but still not "nice." At the time, it seemed that they were remodelling, and boy did they!

The rooms are now clean, up to date with nicer ameneties. The wardrobe is a nice dark wood with modern blinds, and the bathrooms look much better with a bit of marble countertop. The room is large enough for the price, and the check in, on both occiasions, was very nice.

I highly recommend this Hampton with a new face!

This was a fantastic place. Looks as thought it was recently renovated. Modern decor. Breakfast area bigger than most. Breakfast included bisquits and gravey as the only hot item, but so many more items included. The room was extremely clean and up-to-date. Beds were plush. Business desk computer with printer...free to use. Also had other office supplies there, including fed ex envelopes. We were in town for a softball tournament. Was packed in all the hotels with state track meet, followed by softball tourney. I had walked into the Baymont next door, and did look at a room there. Friends stayed there and said it was fine. But the Hampton was just a couple of notches up. Warning - you can't get government rate unless you show a letter of proof that you are in town on business.

Oh..and I'm VERY picky!

Recently updated. New beds are wonderful with duvets, down pillows. Nice breakfast with pastry, sausage and biscuits or gravy as well as cinnamon raisin biscuits. Also usual cereal...and the coffee is excellent.
