I was visiting my hometown for a wedding from Los Angeles. I was extremely disappointed from the moment I checked in. My over priced room was large but had a worn out chair, not all the lamps worked, stained wallpaper and the bathroom floors weren't very clean. The first thing I noticed was the clock radio flashing. It was broken. I needed a clock since I was coming from a different time zone and had to wake early for a wedding the next morning. When I got a replacement, that clock was also broken, but could tell the time. (I had to use my cell phone alarm to wake me up.) How expensive are clock radios? No coffee maker in my room as promised. The breakfast was a joke! They had small Styrofoam cups (matching the ones in my bathroom) for the coffee, dry cereal and tiny donettes. Breakfast was totally not worth waking up early for. The shower handle fell off in my hand when I turned on the water. One night the electricity went off for several hours and the staff didn't seem to offer any explanation. The television would turn itself off and not all the channels worked. The air-conditioning wasn't on and I had to have my window open. The staff would stand under my window for their smoking breaks...I was in a Non-Smoking room. Thank goodness I spent most of my time out of the room. That area is depressed enough and to have a motel like that in business is a shame because I will never stay in that area again. I will go to Tinley Park next time.

i came to this Days Inn in august for a concert in the area not having much of a choice so i was quite worried.it definetely excedeed my expectations and after one day i just felt i got a great deal.The front desk was very nice and helpful,breakfast is very professional handled.Room was clean ,the entire builing seemed in a great condition.Next time i'll be in the area i'll come back for sure

I had booked this in advanced and read the previous visitors comments and tried to change my destination but could not find any available
locations to stay. The room lightining is terrible. There is only one trash can for the entire room. No ammenities except for a coffee pot.
We left the room the day of our departure and then came back to
make sure we hadnt left anything. We were shocked to see our room door open and then a maid came in and screamed at us saying that they didnt know anyone was in here. Very rude, and not necessary to be so unkind.
I understand what she was saying but she didnt need to be so loud and
rude. I would never stay there again. Plus the noise people slamming doors at all hours of the night. Very dissappointed!
If at all cost dont book your reservations there! You will be so disappointed.

First of all, please note that this particular hotel is no longer a Hampton Inn. It used to be a Hampton Inn. Now it is locally owned and operated (called Matteson Inn) and has no affiliation with Hilton Hotels. This review is of the Matteson Inn.

That said, if I had a dog, I wouldn't let it stay here. I had a room for 3 nights in May 2004, but left after one night. The hotel was quite empty. Yet for some reason, they put me (and a co-worker) in rooms next to the room of a family that had been staying at this hotel for a couple months. They were known by the staff to be loud at all hours of the night. Yet they still stuck us next to them even though there were plenty of other rooms available. The next morning they offered to move us. We just opted to leave the hotel instead (hopefully sending them a message).

The breakfast buffet was dismal. Cereal and doughnuts was about it. No internet access at all.

There are a number of other brand new (bargain) hotels to stay at in nearby Tinley Park.
