“Beautiful spot”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 29, 2013

We spent two nights here on arriving at the Islands. This is a beautiful property in a stunning location. Our room (#2) was spotlessly clean and comfortable with a wonderful view out to the ocean. It is a fairly small room but perfectly adequate especially as there are communal areas in the Inn. Breakfast was absolutely delicious and served in the light and airy dining room, again with stunning views. The only possible disadvantage for some might be the fact that this is a fairly isolated property and that to reach restaurants or shops one must take your car or call a cab (which we did but was quite expensive). However, the isolation is part of the charm and makes this a perfect spot to relax and get away from it all.

Room Tip: Room two is on the ground floor with doors opening out onto a small deck and the lawns. Just steps t...

Thanks to Therese Bergeron, our stay was memorable and convinced us that Havre-sur-Mer is the place to return to on our next visit to the Magdelan Islands. The Inn has clean, spacious interiors, comfortable rooms with private baths and ocean view balconies. The property sits on the coast with a convenient short trail access to beautiful large sandy beaches and coastal views. The Inn contains a guest kitchen, guest TV room, wireless access, quality comfortable beds, well tended yards, a spa cabana (whirlpool, sauna, massage), grassy lawn areas and more. Breakfast is served in a beautiful sun room and served by an attentive staff and prepared by a on-site chef. The property is located nearby La Grave, a historical site popular with tourists and with great restaurants within a short drive. Our first trip to Magdelan Islands was with the car, allowing us to explore all the Islands. Our second trip may involve only the bicycles since we know to return to Therese Bergeron and the Havre-sur-Mer and enjoy this beautiful haven and the local surroundings.

Room Tip: All rooms appear to be comfortable, quite, spacious, with balcony views and private baths. We arrive...

Our second stay at this wonderful inn with our host Therese Bergeron, who was attentive to ensuring that her guests were more than satisfied. The breakfasts were superb and set in the calm atmosphere of her sun filled breakfast area. Rooms were very comfortable, clean and lended well to a sound night of sleep.
There are many choices for dining within 10 to 20 minutes away, unless you want to prepare a simple meal in her small kitchen area for guests.
Would highly recommend this B & B where the friendly atmosphere and pleasant environment will make you want to extend your stay.

My wife gasped at the beauty of our room--the gold and maroon curtains pulled back from the sliding door through which the Atlantic Ocean glinted its welcome--and fell in love with the place.

Thérèse Bergeron, a lover of all languages, conversed in French, English and Spanish with me. A linguist, a host, and the boss who hired Chef Guy (a culinary artist whose divine breakfasts included foods I wouldn't normally eat and whose non-food art is on display in La Grave historic district), provided the perfect haven for this Canadian Spy.

The best host, the best French lessons, the best breakfasts, the best of the best, la crème de la crème. Calme et à la sérénité, tout à fait.

We stayed here for only two nights, and are already planning to go back. Therese and the team could not make a visitor feel more welcome, the accomodation is superbly and stylishly decorated. We loved the privacy of studio 1 with it's amazing views and enjoyed the quiet walk along easily accessible beach in the morning. Havre-sur-Mer looks a little remote on the map but we found it was well worth the extra few kilometers to come back to this charming place.

The surprise gourmet breakfasts deserve a paragraph on their own and as the one who predominately cooks at home I was delighted to have such wonderful food provided without having to make a single decision!

If you have difficultly sleeping past the dawn light - take some eye masks, the shades and curtains cut out very little light which caused us to wake early.

A wonderful place - the term B&B really doesn't do it justice.

Our room was perfect! Completely clean and with a wonderful view of the ocean. The gourmet breakfasts were fantastic! The best meals we had each day. Easy access to the beach, and located close to some other Island attractions. Basically, this inn is located in the perfect "jumping off point" for your daily adventures. Therese was a great host and her English is good (better than she thinks it is). We would stay here again, however, getting to the Islands is expensive and so are most things to see and do once there. Not sure if we'll be back soon... But will ALWAYS stay at the Havre-sur-Mer if/when we do return.

A room with a view of the sea (leave the sliding door open...), gourmet breakfasts included (eggs benedict, smoked salmon omelett and more), easy access, and many more. Check out the 2 story suite!
When in the islands, no questions: stay here (we did for 8 nights) and it will be a memorable part of your trip. It's not a 5 starr, its a five heart. You will remember...
Therese the owner is charming.
We will be back soon. Need we say more.
