Stayed at this property one night for a wedding in Macomb. Room was decent size and reasonabally clean. Breakfast was good and was a normal type free continental breakfast. Bathrooms in the breakfast/lobby area were dirty and not stocked. Price of room was good but beds were uncomfortable. Would choose another hotel if staying in Macomb again but you get what you pay for when you book a cheap hotel.

Had to call the front desk because of a group staying in a near by room decided that they should party outside their room and were very LOUD. Took two visits from the staff to quiet them down.

Adequate for a cheaper priced hotel but, can't imagine staying longer than one night.

I can't even begin to tell you how disappointing this hotel is. Do not trust pictures on the website. The room we stayed in was in need of serious maintenance - with peeling wallpaper, a door that did not shut properly, and a toilet that screeched off and on through the night. Still, it was the cleanliness - or lack there of - that was appalling. The bottom of the shower curtain was covered in mold/mildew and...GET THIS - there was left-over coffee in the coffee pot that had mold growing on top. It was too late for us to find a different hotel and that is the only reason we stayed.
The manager on duty was very nice, but unfortunately, one nice person in the midst of slovenly front desk workers and a slacking housekeeping manager does not make a bit of difference. This place needs a major overhaul of its environment and of some of its staff.
Oh, and don't think that Windham will take your complaints seriously; they are obviously making enough money on their larger hotels to care less whether their smaller chains in areas such as Macomb are fairing well. Their response to this issue was a simple, "Well." Not even an apology.

What's with this place?

I'm in my early 40s, and am finishing up a Masters Degree through WIU.
I've done most classes online, but found I've had to come out to Macomb twice in the past year.
I have stayed at the excellent Holiday InnExpress before, but they were booked.
i came here, and I feel like I'm in some odd slop-house!
The first word that comes to mind is 'Dingy".

The lighting is awful , the room smells bad (I went to the local store to buy a Lysol Spry Dispenser), and I'm too uncomfortable to lay down in these awful, dirty looking beds!

Saying that, I should add that the staff has been extremely friendly, amd a least they have wi-fi, so I can type stuff like this!

I wiil NOT ever step fot in thi place again. It creeps me out. No hallways, the door leads right outside, and it seems loud.

Never again!

“Wet beds?”

We normally stay at the excellent Holiday Inn Express in Macomb but it was sold out on the night we needed. We arrived at the Days Inn late at night. Got into bed, and realized that the sheets were wet. Wet, with what? We have no idea, we just know that the bottom sheet was wet under all the other covers. It took the front desk 10 minutes to answer the phone and he told us to come down and we could get a new key. Since, we were all the way across the property we asked him to bring us a new key. We were given another room, which is nothing outstanding. The next morning, we complained to the manager, and nothing was done about it. We will never stay here again!

“Water bug in the bed - disgusting”

I stayed with a friend at this Days Inn for two nights. The first night we were there, my friend pulled back her sheets and found what looked like a huge cockroach scurry across the mattress.

I called the front desk and told them we had a cockroach in our room and asked for another room, and he said "Are you sure it wasn't a water bug?" So I said "Yeah, I guess it could have been." (But, honestly, what the hell's the difference? They're both huge disgusting black bugs.) And he goes "Yeah, we have a problem with water bugs." And I said "So they're in every room?" and he goes "Yeah." So gross!!!!!

And then a minute later I found a huge spider crawling across a washcloth by the sink.

My stay here really was truly horrific.
