After seeing the favorable reviews and ratings here, it may be my expectations were a bit too high. After all, this is just a Comfort Suites.
And since most of my concerns were unique to the room itself, it may just be I got a "dog" room - perhaps due to the fact that we checked in early and also received an attractive, bereavement rate.
The biggest concern I had that was not unique to the room was the noise. I think you could hear virtually every door in the hotel slam shut. I was awakened at 4 AM from a load door closing near my room. Over the next hour (on a Sunday morning!) I thought I heard at least another couple dozen. Unable to get back to sleep, as I lay in bed I thought I might be exaggerating things, so I actually counted 16 door slams from 5:30 -5:45. If you're not a light sleeper, I guess this isn't a big deal.
I also agree with other reviewers who thought the the mattresses are a bit on the harder side, but that was not an issue for me.
There were, however, a number of minor issues about the room itself:
1)there was an unsightly carpet tear just inside the door,
2) the bathroom door would not stay closed (it would swing fully open) unless fully closed & latched,
3) the bath fan did not work,
4) the "adjustable" shower head did not change when adjusted - all it produced was a weak flow,
5) the phone was not connected (I was able to connect it),
6) the usual information sheet on how to use the phone was missing (& when I mentioned this to the front desk they didn't seem to care that it needed to be replaced),
7) the phone message light remained on even thought there were no messages,
8) there was no information in the room about the television channel selections.
Even though these were each pretty minor, the fact that there were so many issues here suggests they really have not been very attentive to their room upkeep. Therefore, should I return to the area, I will look quite hard to find a better alternative.
