We just finished a four night stay with a family of six (three year old, twin twelve year olds, and a fifteen year old). My husband was on a business trip, so we decided to make it a family weekend getaway over fall break. I searched high and low for a hotel that would meet all of our needs and this one fit the bill.
After reading some reviews, I was concerned the hotel would be overcrowded with noisy children, but one of our nights the hotel was full and everything went fine. The decor was beautiful, especially the atrium. The children enjoyed the clear glass elevators, made to order omelets at breakfast, and the teenagers loved the kiosks in the lobby to keep up with their facebook accounts. There is also a mall across the street which gave us a fun activity while my husband was in the office. Near the mall is Target which is great for picking up odds and ends you always need on a trip.
I can't praise the service enough. When I made our reservation I requested a room away from large groups for the three year olds naps and was given a front corner room (nice view). I asked for extra towels and they were already in the room upon our arrival. We had a long six hour drive from Kentucky, and my husband checked in with record time. Three of us got a cold, and an extra box of tissues was promptly placed in our room.
Very few hotels can truly pull off catering to both families and the business traveler, but this hotel does it! The atmosphere is very professional, yet personable. Comfy beds, delicious breakfast, and beautiful decor. We booked with a AAA rate, and it was a fabulous deal, especially with breakfast included. We offer our best recommendation for this hotel and will be returning for future stays.

Traveled with my parents, husband and two children under 4 to the Embassy Suites Lombard for a short Chicago getaway. Very convenient from Chicago downtown on I-290- 15 minutes with no traffic to get to Lake Shore Drive. As with all Embassy Suites, great breakfast buffet, and the 2 hour FREE manager's reception with unlimited rail drinks, beer and wine, as well as misc. snacks is wonderful. How many hotels have an open bar for their guests? Great for a family with small kids when the adults want to have some fun but can't go to a bar. The swimming pool/hot tub/sauna area is immaculate, and the lobby is beautiful, with lush foliage, koi fish, just not as roomy as some other Embassy suites we've been to. The room was great, plush beds, great flat screen TVs. Overall a great stay. My only downside was that one of the nights we were there they were vacumming the carpets, their "once a month" cleaning, and since we were on the second floor it was extremely loud in the middle of the night for my husband and I who were sleeping on the sofa bed in the living room. My parents didn't notice in the bedroom. They offered to move us many floors up but we opted not to wake up the whole family to move.

Overall, a great stay, convenient, well managed. Very happy. Close to all sorts of shopping (across the street from the mall), and tons of restaurants. Free internet in the lobby.

Good spot for business though too far out from Chicago for pleasure!

Been staying here for a number of years. Nice hotel with decent rates and plenty of restaurants near by.
