“Pleasant stay”

A somewhat older HIEX that has been refurbished. The rooms are adequate in size and the beds and bedding were above average. The downside was that the sink was in the room(rather than the bathroom) and the air system has a fan that shuts on and off based on temperature rather than running constantly -- this tends to interrupt sleep. On the plus side the staff couldn't have been more pleasant. On checkout day we were leaving at 5.00 am and found our in-room coffee maker did not work; the receptionist made us coffee so that we would have some before we left. Nice service.

Just returned from a 3 night stay at the Holiday Inn Express in Libertyville where I and my 2 children attended a family reunion.
(This hotel was booked in advance for our reunion group.) I have nothing but GREAT things to say about this hotel, its staff and the amenities. First and foremost, our room was one of the most comfortable hotel rooms I've ever been in. Perhaps that's due to its tasteful decor, luxurious bedding, deluxe pillows and thick towels! This hotel has followed suit with other hotels; upgraded mattresses, comforters and pillows. Everyone from the front desk staff, to the housekeepers to the breakfast attendant were cheerful and accomodating. The breakfast area is spacious and pleasant and there are menu items to please everyone. A newspaper was delivered to our room every morning. Laundry facilities are available in this hotel as well as an indoor pool (a "must have" when traveling with children). There is a Walgreen's located next door to the hotel as well as a couple of local restaurants. This hotel is not located ON the interstate but just a convenient few miles away.
I should also mention that there is a meeting room in this hotel which our reunion host reserved so that we could gather as a group one night. Those who are used to saying that they cannot wait to get home to their own bed might sing a different tune after they've stayed at this hotel!

“The Bedding Won Me Over”

Holiday Inn Express Chicago-Libertyville

Jul 30, 2006

I stayed here with a wedding party this past month. I have to admit that I was not expecting much from a Holiday Inn, much less a Holiday Inn EXPRESS, but this hotel completely won me over.

The decor is new and classically done. There is a small sitting area in the front lobby.

The rooms are large and very tastefully furnished. I had a king bed room that contained also contained a wingback chair, a large desk, and a comfy rolling desk chair. An iron and ironing board are provided in each room.

The bed and bedding are to die for. The mattress seemed to be a pillowtop--soft but supportive. The sheets were high thread count with a duvet and throw blanket on top. Toiletries included shampoo, soap, lotion, showercap, shoeshine, and makeup remover. There were of a quality much higher than I expected. The bedding is definitely something that I would have expected to have seen in a boutique hotel!

There is a continental breakfast in the morning that is about the quality I would expect for a two star. Ceral, yogurt, hardboiled eggs, coffee. They had "bisquits and gravy" which labeled as "local fare" which confused me a little bit.

High speed internet is free and worked well.

The weather was wicked hot but the airconditioning unit worked well in my room. My brother mentioned his seemed a little sluggish.

Overall, I'd have NO qualms about recommending this hotel or staying here again. It has the feeling of a pricier hotel.
