I stayed here with a wedding party this past month. I have to admit that I was not expecting much from a Holiday Inn, much less a Holiday Inn EXPRESS, but this hotel completely won me over.
The decor is new and classically done. There is a small sitting area in the front lobby.
The rooms are large and very tastefully furnished. I had a king bed room that contained also contained a wingback chair, a large desk, and a comfy rolling desk chair. An iron and ironing board are provided in each room.
The bed and bedding are to die for. The mattress seemed to be a pillowtop--soft but supportive. The sheets were high thread count with a duvet and throw blanket on top. Toiletries included shampoo, soap, lotion, showercap, shoeshine, and makeup remover. There were of a quality much higher than I expected. The bedding is definitely something that I would have expected to have seen in a boutique hotel!
There is a continental breakfast in the morning that is about the quality I would expect for a two star. Ceral, yogurt, hardboiled eggs, coffee. They had "bisquits and gravy" which labeled as "local fare" which confused me a little bit.
High speed internet is free and worked well.
The weather was wicked hot but the airconditioning unit worked well in my room. My brother mentioned his seemed a little sluggish.
Overall, I'd have NO qualms about recommending this hotel or staying here again. It has the feeling of a pricier hotel.
