First of all, the rooms have a smell that is unexplainable. Not at all a nice smell. After checking the beds to ensure cleanliness, we found SEVERAL hairs on the comforter, blanket, sheets and we won't even mention what was on the mattress cover. We had double beds in our room and both beds were in this condition. We requested sheets and FINALLY got a set that was clean (free of hairs) on the 4th set of sheets. We called every hotel in a 30 mile radius but all of them were booked up.. so we were stuck in this dumpy, hairy hotel. The headboards were broken and unattached in places on the wall, causing them to sit lopsided. There were hairs in the shower and dried urine on the wall in the bathroom. The people that work at the desk and in housekeeping don't speak English very well, so it was very hard to relay any complaints to them. Another customer was checking out as we were in the lobby and complained that his air conditioner didn't work and the clerk didn't even acknowledge that he had said a word.
The pool... we didn't dare get in the pool. It had a plastic chair in the pool and lots of debris and leaves in it as well. This is a shame that this dumpy hotel now gives myself and my mother a bad outlook on all Days Inn motels. We have both decided that we will never stay at one again unless we are very very desperate and then I think staying in our vehicle will be more appealing.
