When traveling west this summer, my husband and I were trying to make it to Dyersville, IA, but after hitting traffic snarls in Chicago, we were way behind schedule. We were heading down US 20, and decided to stop for dinner. We used our iPhones to find The Rafters (another review), and when we asked if there was a campground nearby, the waitress sent us "down the road about a mile". This is how we found Lena KOA and became immediate fans of the company!
This property set the bar for all other KOA's we were to visit for the remainder of our trip. We arrived just before dark (9:00), and Joe zipped up in his golf cart to welcome us and show us to our site. It was awesome! Beautifully landscaped, clean restrooms, and nice, friendly staff.
I wish that every KOA we visited after Lena was just as beautiful and clean, but alas, it was just not to be.
I give Joe and the Lena KOA HIGH marks for their pride of ownership.
