Entering Los Ranchitos is like taking a little trip to Mexico. Located on the south end of town, the restaurant looks nothing like the old KFC it replaced. The dining room is clean and attractive, the walls are painted bright colors, and the festive decor features furniture with hand-painted scenes of life South of the Border. Authentic Mexican music plays in the background, and the TVs are tuned to Spanish stations. We were seated immediately by friendly waitstaff and served fresh tortilla chips and savory mild salsa. We ordered Enchiladas Banderas and Burrito Mexicana. Both dishes were served promptly, piping hot and full of fresh-tasting ingredients. We enjoyed our meals so much that we returned for lunch and had the Taco Salad and Mexican Tacos (beef, pork and chicken--all delicious). The prices are reasonable, especially the $6 lunch specials. Not the best Mexican food we've ever had, but it's definitely the best in town and possibly the area. This restaurant works hard to provide an authentic and enjoyable dining experience. Highly recommended!
