“Great Visit Once Again”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 17, 2012

Keep going back because of the nice service. Everyone is so friendly And helpfull.
Had a Premium Room for 2 nights comped so how could I complain. I wouldn't even if I paid for it.
Only issue for the 2 days is didn't win at the casino. Maybe next time.
Room was clean & only thing needed was upgrade to the couch & lounge chair. Showing signs of wear.

Stayed at Harrah's Joliet for a few days; about 1 hour drive from O'hare airport/Chicago. Very nice hotel & room right on the river. Friendly employees & excellent customer service! Comfortable bed, nice furnishings, great bathroom. Pros: Very good front desk, PC room w/printer, free WiFi, small store with food & necessities you can purchase, quiet, comfortable, mini fridge, coffee maker, hair dryer, iron. Cons: NO in-room safe (unusual for hotels w/casinos), no flat screen TV. Casino is another story. It's relatively small, smoke free (you have to take doors leading outside to designated smoking area), decent bar, free soda/coffee stations, good hamburger/hot dog deli. Mostly 2cent slots but they have 25cent and dollar slots as well. Some of the tightest slots I've ever played anywhere (not exaggerating). Didn't see anyone jackpot & you don't get even small payouts to keep you playing...lose fast;no fun. This was surprising because I've played at other Harrah's casinos and had alot of fun; but not at this one. Went to the Hollywood casino about 5 miles away and had a better time.

Room Tip: Ask for rooms with a river view. Avoid the casino or lose your money.

Arrived on Oct 8 around 10am for 2 night stay, and I was so impressed with level of service from the staff there! Cheerful greeting by door man at front, and no line at check in desk. I had regular room booked, on a comped stay, and was given a comped upgrad to a premium room.
After a short wait my room was ready, and it was wonderful. view of river, huge bathroom with soaking tub, large room with refrigerator (stocked with complementary water and soda), coffee pot, and the regular basics of iron, board, large flat screen TV. Plenty of storage for clothes. The only thing that could have made the room better would have been a comfortable chair or small sofa. (The only chairs were 2 regular chairs by the small table.) Plus would have liked a full length mirror. Altho the furniture was a little worn it was very clean.
The casino was small, but plenty of slots, mixture of penny and 2cents, 5 cents, and over. (would have enjoyed more 1 cent slots!! There were free beverage stations, (free coffee, soda) but you had to pay for any thing else. (beer, etc.) Plus C.W came around freq. to see if you needed anything.
i had fun at the slots, and won enough to play for long periods of time. No big wins tho.
Ate breakfast one time at the buffet (Paula Dean). Great omlet. Not a huge selection, but all the food I had was warm and tasty. (I think it was $10-12) Also had a few meals at the snack shop
All in all I gave a rating of 5 mainly because of the staff. Everyone from valet to front desk to housekeeping to CW to cleaning staff to security were cheerful and friendly. No one ever passed you without a friendly hello.
The valet is free if you are a hotel guest, When I was leaving my car was brought around within 2 minutes!! I was really impressed. The door man also cheerfully helped me with directions to the interstate.
This was my first stay here, but certainly would stay again, and recommend to friends. The staff are wonderful. Makes staying there so pleasant

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a view of the river.

Hotel was really nice. Staff was super friendly. Only complaint was it was far from downtown Chicago!
Casino was small and very tight with payouts! I only witnessed two jackpots in three days!!! Loved the fact it was non smoking!!!!

Surprise mid-week 2 night stay in Joliet as part of attending a concert at the United Center in Chicago. Super friendly hotel staff -- every need perfectly met including an hour extension on check out after a too late night out at the attached Harrah's casino.
Paula Deen's Buffet was visited twice -- both at close to the breakfast / lunch switch. Food was very satisfying -- unfortunately had a waitress that thought she was as funny as my traveling companions and I are -- she sort of sucked but it was a buffet so we rolled through it. Highly recommend the cinnamon roll casserole if you can get it when it's there.
Small note . . . as we walked through the hotel area between casino and the elevator bank, every hotel employee gave us a cheerful hello -- should not be something exceptional, but it really was nice to be acknowledged and made to feel welcome.

Room Tip: Go high floor -- with view of the river -- just pretty!

Thank you for choosing us for your concert stay! All year long we enjoy meeting folks traveling to various locations throughout the Chicago area. Paula Deen's Kitchen is a great new addition to our facility and we will soon be adding even more enticing options to this already great outlet!
Located 2 blocks from Amtrak, Metra and Interstate 80 you can travel throughout Chicagoland conveniently from our facility while enjoying the fun and excitement of 40,000 square feet of gaming including a World Series of Poker room!

We hope to see you again soon!

We have stayed here several times before, The rooms are nice, clean and the staff is very nice. The casino is very small but we were there at an off time so it was not crowded. Eating at Paula's was what really brought us here. We have eaten at 2 of her other restaurants, which were fine, but this was horrible! We tried several meats and they were all tough and very dry. The salad bar had no diced meat like bacon or ham and other choices of toppings were limited. I have never seen such a small dessert selection and what we tried was not great. I will say the dinner veggies and other sides were good. The peel and eat shrimp was great - we should have just stuck with that. Very disappointing.

Stayed at Harrah's in Joliet while visiting family. Had a great time gambling and drinking. I am from the south and they just opened the first Paula Deen's buffet in the northern states. It was great! Great service and nice people.
