“A mix of very good and disappointing”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 12, 2012

The staff was very friendly, polite, and accommodating.

Most of the hotel itself was average to very good. The meeting rooms were average, the lobby was very good, the bed was very good, the towels were great. The bathroom had some crackling of the plaster on the walls, and the fan was relatively loud and hard to get to a good medium temperature, warm or cold it could do, medium was hard. We left the fan on for white noise, because the window faced into the lobby and the people talking were a little noisy. Soundproofing could be better.

The service in the restaurant was good, but the food options were very limited, 4 adult entrees or a buffet, and only average in quality. Not a place I wanted to have multiple meals at.

There was a breakfast buffet included in our stay, and it was a full breakfast with eggs, pancakes, sausages, bacon, fruit, yogurt, hot oatmeal, breads, muffins, etc. A good variety of foods, average quality for items kept in warming trays.

I'd go back, but would prefer to eat elsewhere for lunch & dinner.

Room Tip: Ask for an outside room, to avoid hearing the chatter in the lobby if it's going to be a busy ni...

A large and fairly modern hotels, your basic HI. We had a good dinner in the very large lounge area. I would guess this hotel caters to large groups and events. My room faced the highway, so there was constant noise and occasional train whistle. Ask for a room away from 355.
Breakfast was very good, as well as the waiter.
I found a note on my car the next morning from the police department, saying I left an item visible, that could be stolen. I like that attention to detail.

Room Tip: Stay away from route 355 and the train.

Nicoat, held a small Annivesary party at the Holiday Inn in Itasca, IL on October 11, 2012, Thanks to Ulyana Viniarskaya, and her crew for making this event memorable . The Private Room we had was quite nice and the food we had was everything we had hoped for and then some.

Great Job!!!!

Stayed four nights here as part of a large work group and the hotel staff could not have been more accommodating. They went out of their way to be helpful as our teams came and went at all times of the day and night due to a complicated schedule of projects. The breakfasts were excellent, the bar always fun and the rooms very comfortable. One tip though - ask for a room away from the freeway - it is quieter. Nice swimming pool too.

Room Tip: ask for a room away from the freeway

I would especially like to thank Patti Vonder Heide, Ulyana Viniarskaya and Jesse Mercado. I had the pleasure of working with all of these people and their staff and found them to be extremely pleasant, knowledgeable and helpful thought the event. Their professionalism is a credit to the entire Holiday Inn Itasca organization.

3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 4, 2012

I reserved 2 rooms during this trip and they were able to get us adjoining rooms so that was very nice. When we arrived there i told reception that I needed a fridge in my room and they were able to bring it up right away. One of our rooms was fine, but the other one had multiple issues that I didn't discover till the next morning. Our air worked intermittently so it was very warm in our room and uncomfortable. Our toilet didn't flush unless you held the handle down for a few seconds. Our bathtub was super slow draining and our phone did not work. I called about all these issues and they moved us to the room on the other side of our friends room, which was also adjoining so that was nice. We stopped at the pool on our last day there and it was a disappointment. The water was dirty, with stuff lime hair floating in it. The water was not very warm and there weren't even any towels there.
Overall the hotel was okay. I will not stay here again. It was far from chicago.

This is the second year in a row that we have stayed here on our vacation to Chicago. The staff Justina, Christina, and Jojoy were wonderful and the rooms were extra clean and comfortable. I stayed here five or six years ago before the renovation and the condition now is like night and day as compared to the past. You will be very happy you stayed here.

Room Tip: Room 108 and 110 are great first floor connecting rooms
