I was staying at Marriot NW for business with Sears for 3 months in late 2007.
This is a new hotel: between 5 and 6 years old and it still looks new. with many good sized rooms and a large set of conference suites. It is situated within walking distance (10min) of The Sears Center and 5 min drive from Sears Headquarters and other smaller offices. Its location means it is excellent for business, or for a Sears Center event!
The rooms are ideally suited for the business traveller: desk/chair etc.with a comfy bed that wasn't too soft.
The hotel has excellent quality wifi signal throughout (at a flat rate per day) and a small business center which allows printing. Other facilities include a gym, lap pool and concierge lounge. All rooms have coffee making facilities in addition to the filter coffee available beside reception every morning.
I experienced the hotel when very busy (during events involving the Sears Center) and very quiet. Even when the hotel was full of ice hockey kids (a once off during my time) the staff were still very friendly and handled the situation well. At the busiest times it was still possible to get a drink at the bar quickly!
The staff are all extremely friendly and certainly made the place feel like a home from home during my stay. Thank-you to all of them!
The conference suites are all far enough away from the rooms, that I rarely noticed they were even being used, never mind having a wedding celebration with band going on.
All in all I really enjoyed my extended stay there: It was a long time to spendin a hotel but I would be happy to go back!
