We spent Labor Day Weekend at Courtyard Highland Park to celebrate our anniversary. While there, I was hospitalized for emergency care. Staff at Courtyard were thoughtful and efficient in accommodating needs of my wife and our traveling companions. We would give them eight stars if we could!

If zero was an option, that's what I would give this place. I reserved my wedding room block here since it was near my reception. I pre-arranged the shuttle. I gave the hotel the address of the reception, yet the dropped off one group at another location at someone else's wedding! (Since my guests were from out of town, they didn't know the difference.) My guests called the hotel and they came back to get them. That was fine as it was a simple mistake. What really upset me was after the reception they took two shuttle loads back to the hotel and were supposed to come back for the third and last group (which included my husband and I.) When the shuttle driver didn't show up after a half hour, I called the hotel and the gentleman on the phone told me the shuttle driver had gone home for the evening! He apologized and told me there was nothing he could do. Needless to say, I reminded him of my contract and that I was promised a shuttle and he asked me to calm down as I shouldn't be getting upset with him! Calm down? It was my wedding night! I realize it wasn't his fault, but it was his responsibility to solve the issue, which he at first was not willing to do since he told me "there is nothing I can do." We sat there an hour before someone came to pick us up. I understand that things don't always work out as expected, but as a business... if there's a problem, you need to try to solve it. I would never recommed this place to anyone, especially anyone looking to have a wedding block!

I would have given this Courtyard a better rating if we'd been given a room that didn't look out on the highway. I didn't mind the view but I did mind the highway noise. They need better sound insulation for those rooms. This hotel doesn't have a restaurant on site, but there is a breakfast buffet for which you pay. It wasn't great, especially for what they charge, but it was a quick and comfortable breakfast. Max's Deli in the plaza abutting on Skokie Hwy offers a better breakfast for less money. The room was standard and quite comfortable; the bed was fine as was the shower.

I've stayed in a few hotels in the area while visiting family, and this one is the best. I was greeted by an extremely friendly gentlemen when I arrived. It was such a relief after such a long drive. I was so pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness of the room. Even all the grout in the bathroom was clean -- no mold or stains! The beds and pillows are very comfortable. I will definitely be staying here again.
