“Best kept secret around!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 15, 2012

We had a group of nine with us for a lunch. 7 were internal employees and we were hosting 2 customers in town for a visit.
Lunch here was a hit for every single person in the group. One in particular was already making plans to return with his wife for dinner over the weekend because there were so many things on the menu that he wanted to try.
I knew that a large dinner was in my future that evening, so I went conservative with the chop salad adding chicken. It was quite good. The group's choices varied from creole options to bbq salmon. Appetizers were also a hit.
The service was great. Our server was very knowledgable of all of the dishes and made some great recommendations based on people's questions. I'm not sure if it was the manager or owner, but she specifically made a point on checking in our us during our lunch and thanked us on the way out.
The value was great. For all 9 of us with meals, appetizers, and drinks (non-alcoholic), we were at $180.
We will be back . . . again and again:)
** I saw a sign hanging that said if you were looking to host a shower or special occasion meal during the day on Saturday or Sunday of 25-75, they'd open the place just for you without a rental charge. That's impressive!

“Hidden gem!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 20, 2012

In a strange location but well worth the hunt. Best BBQ in the Chicago area. We had the pulled pork and ribs. YUMM! Not too smoky - which a lot of other places fail on - and just the right amount of rub & sauce. We argued over which was the best and it was basically a tie. We started with a ceasar's salad that was nice and light. The baked beans with the meal were strange, way too sweet and weirdly crunchy. But don't think this is a BBQ joint only - the menu has a little bit of everything from pasta to steak to stirfry.

Our only complaint would be the wine. Decent wine list but by-the-glass is $9 for not a huge pour. Ouch. The good news is that their beer selection is great and decently priced. Desserts looked delicious but we were already stuffed. Can't wait to go back!

“Worth a 120 mile trek”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 11, 2012

Bluegrass has been so consistently excellent each and every time we go that when we have a craving for their food we make the 120 mile round trip trek from our home in the south side of Chicago. Don't miss starting with the bluegrass martini and stop yourself ( it is possible but not easy ) in time to leave room for dessert. Their sampler size is plenty for us to split. Only wish we have is if they would open a location on the south side. Say, Frankfort? Just sayin. Can't go wrong dining here!!

“Excellent food and staff!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 6, 2012

Bluegrass is not in our neighborhood, but it is worth the 30 minute drive to have a great dinner with your spouse or your friends. The menu is not just your ordinary menu. They have a lot of Southern Cajun type food (Jambalya and Crawfish Etoufee), they also have steak, fish, and fabulous BBQ Brisket. They brought a complimentary BBQ Brisket sampler to our table, which immediately changed my husband's mind on what he was going to order - he had the Brisket for dinner. I love their Jambalya and ordered that. Both excellent. They also have really good bread and a sweet butter that must be homemade. The mini chocolate martini was perfect and so was the chocolate chip bread pudding. If you get in there right at 5:00 when the restaurant opens you probably don't need a reservation. Once it gets later it is a good idea to call ahead and get a reservation. The staff and the chef are super friendly and inviting. You feel at home, comfortable and totally satisfied with the atmosphere.

“Delicious Cajun”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 1, 2012

I went here with Family and had a lovely meal. We had a great service and the food was also just as good. We order jambalaya, green beans, and escargot. Everything was delicious.
