“Don't know what the last guy was talking about”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 28, 2012

Almost did not go because of Cubs Fan007. I would have missed out. Amazing BBQ. Had the full rack of ribs with the pancake and green bean side. Fall off the bone ribs with tasty sauce that had a hint of hot. The rest of the family ordered the burnt tips, pulled pork, and whole chicken. All were good with the burnt tips a little on the dry side. The employees were up beat and knowledgable about their products. Will come back when I visit again.

“Disappointing”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed August 25, 2012 via mobile

After reading and hearing all the great reviews we finally decided to try this place. Wow, it was really disappointing!! The meat was totally overlooked and so dry I couldn't even finish my brisket. The ribs were the same way, it was like the food was leftover from the previous day. The only positive was the corn bread side, it was really good. I would not return. It's also very expensive for a cafeteria style restaurant where you don't even get table service. We paid $40 for 2 people. But I guess it's Highland Park and they feel it necessary to rip people off.

“Couldn't have been better!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 22, 2012 via mobile

I had lunch here and will be back again soon. The people were friendly and helpful from the guy who cut the meat to the cashier. The meat was great. I had the brisket burnt ends and they were crunchy and full of flavor. I also had the chicken which is the best I have had anywhere. This place beat KC and Texas que as far as I am concerned.

“Great BBQ!!9”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 19, 2012

Excellent BBQ served in casual cafeteria style restaurant. Service and food are equally great. BBQ brisket is a favorite. Try all of sauces!

“They DO mean "real"”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 8, 2012

We had a late lunch at RUB on a Friday and practically had the place to ourselves. I had the burnt ends sandwich with cole slaw and my wife had the medium portion of brisket and the dill potato salad. Both meats were flavorful and moist and the portion sizes were appropriate for the price charged. The cole slaw was good as was the potato salad. They servers also ask you if you want pickles. What appeared to be sweet pickle slices were actually a bit spicy-- a nice surprise. The regional sauces on the tables were OK; we both decided on the RUB Original. The atmosphere was a nice and clean homage to the corrugated steel buildings seen throughout the South with lots of pictures of other BBQ restaurants and smiling pig caricatures. All in all, a good experience.
