Dined here for lunch a few weeks ago, and wasn't favorably impressed. Pretentious atmosphere, with an overt tinge of arrogance greeted us at the door in the form of a question, "do you have a reservation"? We're talking lunch on a weekday. Nonetheless, I ate at the bar, ordered the beef with Brie. It turned out to be a lot like the beef and cheese we used to get at Shelton's which was formerly the best dining spot ever in Ravinia. Being from Philly, the sandwich tasted like a pretty decent cheese steak, except for the bun, which was not toasted (it shouldn't be), just a couple of days stale. Stale bread. C'mon people. You can do better. Perhaps the manager needs to spend more time on the bread line than responding to every Trip Advisor review. If you really care, buy some fresh rolls every day, and then just drop the pretense and call it a cheesesteak, even though us brother lovers know you won't find a good cheesesteak west of West Philly. .
