“A little paradise on earth”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 20, 2013

Booked this via travel agency and glad that we chose this island resort. Water bungalow is a good recommendation when going to Maldives, just adds to the feel of the place. Though the bungalow may be quite old, it seems maintained and with complete amenities. Everyone in the resort is very helpful and friendly, but the reception area can do a little improvement. We have full board meals including snacks and drinks, and each one has sufficient variety from appetizers to desserts - very glad too with our constant waiter in the dining area - Rashyd, who has been very attentive throughout our stay. Dive point is also available. The island itself is picture perfect!

Room Tip: Definitely worth it to have the water bungalow

My fiancé and I went for 8 days, whilst there it was my birthday and the staff in the cocktail bar presented me with a cake, our waiter decorated our table at dinner with flowers and candles. I am allergic to coconut ans as many of the foods in the Maldives have this as a main ingredient the Su Chef made me my own separate dish. Personally we cannot fault the service of our waiter Rashyd, excellent service, always polite and attentive. The housekeeper Ibrahim cleaned our room twice a day ..... Our room 249 had a excellent view of the ocean, 4 min walk to the restaurant. The beach is right outside, it's like having your own private piece of the island. We would definatley return to the adaaran. Overall the staff are very friendly and accommodate any needs you may have.

We stayed in a watervilla and would really recommend that. The watervilla's are more expensive but they are worth it. Club Rannalhi is one of the cheapest resorts with watervillas. The price difference is big with similar watervillas at other resorts. So for the price we paid, compared with other hotels this is a good deal. The food is good, nothing special but good. The drinks are only included at the restaurant and the bar. In the watervuillas you get two 0.5 liter water bottles per day complimentary of the hotel. The drinks in de minibar you have to pay for. The personnel could smile a little bit more but the service is ok.

Room Tip: Go for a watervilla!

We went to maldives from sri lanka and i must say its not for the average excursionist. if you want a lazy time, eating, sleeping and chilling for 7 days + then its for you but overall its not for us. it was our honeymoon after a wonderful tour in sri lanka, we wanted some relaxation but realised it wasnt for us. 3 days would be ideal but not anything more than that yikes!.
the staff need to smile a bit more, they are helpful as they sorted me out with a sim but they need more work done on them.
food wasnt that pleasant, i think the maldivians need to learn how to cook. they're fish were always chewy eww... apart from the fish we caught from the sea ( it was nice and fresh). dont expect any orange juice freshly squeezed in the restaurant as it comes at a premium. i dont blame them for not having good food as its an island and its hard and expensive to get hold of produce. everything is in dollars and very expensive, you'll notice it when u go to the local villages how the price differences are. best to go to that excursion first and buy all the groceries (drinks) at local prices so that you can avoid the hefty charges the resort will charge you.
night fishing was the best and snorkelling with the sharks was a great experience. you can also go diving and see the mata rays (massive). the karaoke is for the old and gentle and is repeated every day, i'd fall in love with a arangatang with music like that.
be aware that everything purchased from cigerettes to drinks to flippers and spa, is put on tab, so you dont feel the costs incurred but believe me it all adds up to a lot!!!! we paid just over $1k dollars in the end. overall the location was very good, there are two piers where you can go and feed fishes (even though its illegal to feed fishes) we manage to steal some bread buns and feed the fishes... they love it and theres loads of fishes believe me!...
our water villa was ok, not the best furnished ones, very old furnitures and the toilet will turn heads. they say its illegal to strip nude in those island then why on earth have massive glass in the bathroom with bad tints on them. we can clearly see whats going on inside. i felt very uneasy taking a dump just incase someones in snorkelling in from of my landing. anyways views are amazing and the water villas have the best breeze so make sure you book one of those as the island itself magically has no wind at all.. strange but true. sharks dont bite so dont panic.

Room Tip: the water bungalow... nothing else

Everything was excellent! The staff was very friendly, kind and always tried to help us with everything! The Restaurant and food were the best!
