“Great up to eight”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 16, 2013

Lots of activities for small kids. Some of the concepts presented exceed the target age group's ability to understand, but are fun as games.

“A nice childrens museum but beware crowds!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 9, 2013

Go early or don't bother. We went on a Saturday morning when the place opened and it was pretty crowded. By the time we left the museum was full and they would not let people in until people left. The parking lot was also full. GO EARLY OR DON'T BOTHER.

“Great place for kids”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 27, 2012

This tends to be the longest week of the year for parents, so it's great to have some indoor fun places to go. We went during school break between Xmas and New Year's. Unfortunately many other people had the same idea, but they do a great job of managing a crowd from the parking lot to the inside of the museum. We ended up waiting about 20 minutes to get in, but there's a cool change bank that kids were playing with at the front entrance so time passed quickly as long as parents had change.

Once inside the museum, it was well organized into different interest areas. Everything was kept neat and there were staff members in nearly every area doing clean-up and helping kids play. Unfortunately there were also too many parents with noses in their phones, so I noticed several times staff members were looking for lost parents. My son had a blast for more than 2 hours. It is generally designed for younger children. He's 7 and in another couple years, it would be too young for him probably. He loved the shopping area the most. The video phones were another favorite.
During the day, we heard announcements about activities going on. That was a nice touch. Lots to do and even though it was crowded, there seemed to be enough room for everyone. I'm sure we'll be back, even though we live more than an hour from here.

“Great for Little Children”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 29, 2012

A lot of different places to play inside and out. Many kids will get less interested on second and third, but it is good to visit from time to time. They go for variety of activities, but not in depth which is okay for Children's museum.

“great little childrens museum”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 23, 2012

i love that it's small enough so it's not overwhelming for my three-year old and not tiring for me but it's varied enough that my six-year old doesn't get bored after a couple of visits. we have american childrens museum membership (whose awesome benefits will turn into less awesome ones in april 2013), so we go to kohl's pretty often. after more than 10 visits since July, my three-year old can still spend a couple of hours, having a blast.
having said that, i don't know if i'd give it an "excellent" if i had to pay every time. ;)
