“Delicious food and atmosphere”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 5, 2012

Always bustling but with a cozy atmosphere that makes it a nice escape. Great steaks and martinis, and excellent chopped salad as well. There are some small rooms that would be perfect for a birthday, etc.

“Baby boomer delight”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 1, 2012 via mobile

I'm very familiar with wildfire in Oak Brook. Always ridiculously busy, lively to the extreme and trendy. Fun. In Glenview, possibly due to the early evening visit, skewed the more sedate, older crowd....regrettably, like me. This is also an older community in general. But it's really all about the food, ambiance and service, isn't it?
In those arenas our visit was very good. The wine list is deep with a variety of price points. Our food was good, but somewhat forgettable. Service was impeccable. Value was fair to good overall.
Would I make e special effort to return? No. But Lettuce Entertain You restaurants have a generic standard of quality and somewhat expensive value that can be relied upon.
For now, I'll stick with the Oak Brook Wildfire.

“Excellent food, pricey”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 20, 2012

This restaurant is a Tardis. It looks small on the outside but when you go inside, it's huge! The food is very good, steaks are prepared just right, the chopped salad is a must try, and the martini flight or wine flight will give you samples of all their best drink items. It is pricey though, so be prepared to shell out some bucks for the food. The wait staff is friendly and it's a great atmosphere.

“Martini flight!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 15, 2012

I took two customers to this restaurant as they had requested a steakhouse and we were staying nearby in Northbrook.
I don't eat red meat, so I had the Halibut special per a suggestion from a coworker earlier in the day. It was fantastic and I would definitely go back for that exact dish - not bad for a "steakhouse"! The other two had steak dishes - one was a trio of medallions that allowed her to select a different topping for each one (i.e. mushrooms, bleu cheese, etc) and the other had a fillet. The fillet had to be sent back as it was medium rare instead of medium and it took quite awhile to locate the server at this point. It was a bit frustrating to not have been checked on within minutes of delivering the meal to make sure everything was prepared correctly, but that was the only hiccup.
Sides were asparagus, broccoli, mac&cheese, and au gratin potatoes - all very good. Deserts looked ok, not overly tempting but settled on the skillet cookie. I did think it was quite nice that they offered the deserts in half portions as well as the heaping ones displayed on the tray.
What is not to be missed is the martinis - specifically the martini flight which was a lot of fun in presentation and experience. The martini menu is quite long, so it was nice to try 4. The definite favorite was "Stormy Night".

“One of my favorites.....”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 8, 2012

This is close to my home and we go here probably once a month because we know we will enjoy the evening, get great food, great service and with their reservation system and the fact that they are on Open Table, we know we won't have to wait for a table - and we never have. This is one of the very few places that when I order my Stoli martini with bleu-cheese stuffed olives, it tastes exactly the way they do at home. I swear other places water down the drinks - but not Wildfire. They are perfect every time. Great food, great service, great value - one of my all time favorites.
