“What a meal!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 8, 2012

Six of us were in Geneva for a wedding last weekend. Looking at a restaurant close by & based upon trip advisor reviews, we chose Villa Verone for dinner. We made a wise choice! It's housed in a beautiful old building -- nicely appointed & comfortable. We were greeted warmly & escorted to our table on the second floor. Within moments our server appeared, bringing with her a welcoming smile & greeting. She quickly answered our questions about the menu, told us about the specials, & gave her recommendations after inquiry. The menu is extensive & varied, making it difficult to choose just one entree. Salad and/or soup are extra.

That being said, what we really came for was the food. A+ all the way! I opted for the trout special served over angel hair pasta. Superb! Good-sized portion as well! My wife & friends ordered different entrees & gave their "thumbs up," too. Each couple split a scrumptious tiramisu for dessert. Light & flavorable, it was one of best tiramisus I've ever had. We all left full & satisfied. Service was outstanding. Our water glasses never were empty.

Villa Verone also has an outside patio. It was a bit too cool that night, but with warmer weather it would be a great place to dine. I definitely recommend this restaurant & will go again whenever we're in the Geneva area.

“They offer a set price dinner for 2 - exceptional”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 27, 2012

We've eaten here before but for whatever reason, it feel off our radar. Decided to try it again (a year later) and we were pleasantly surprised. The menu was a wonderful mix of italian comfort food and meals that were slightly out of the everyday. The fixed price dinner was a nice change. For $80/per couple, you receive1 appetizer, 2 entrees, 1 bottle of wine and 1 dessert. Plenty of food for the two of us. Service was good. Atmosphere was quaint and charming; set in a typical "Geneva" home with an outdoor garden/seating area. Refreshing change of pace.

“Charming Dining Experience”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 18, 2012

Villa Verone is one of those places that once discovered, will keep you coming back. We live in Geneva, and clearly have plenty of restaurants to choose from, but Villa Verone offers that cozy, intimate dining experience that most restaurants can't offer.

In all honesty, the food is fine. Not the best Italian I've ever had, but I've never been disappointed. The service is good but the atmosphere is what brings me back.

“A Magical Evening”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 8, 2012

On several occasions we have eaten in the dining room at Villa Verone and very much enjoyed our meals. However, on this particular summer evening we ate out in the courtyard under the stars and it was truly memorable. Each dish that was served outdid the previous dish....the service was spot-on, attentive but not overbearing. We were allowed to linger without feeling rushed. It was possibly the best outdoor dining experience we've ever had. We felt like we were on vacation! It was an evening we will never forget and most certainly will be back.

“Classic Italian, nice setting”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 29, 2012

A quaint home off of what appears to be restaurant row on 4th Street (I'm from out of town), Vill aVerone serves up all the classic Italian dishes in a comfortable setting. The menu is corny (Lasagne, if you don't know what it is by now, don't order it) but the food is better than the descriptions. I don;t like fried foods but the toasted ravioli appetizer was excellent. I ordered a special, sausage wrapped in a chicken filet wrapped in bacon. Sounded intriguing and the creamy red sauce that accompanied it and the penne was delicious. My colleague had the mixed fish platter, misto de mare, and was very pleased. Not a heat lover and this was fra diavlo, but the heat was at a comfortable level for him. Both came with a Caesar salad which, other than having too many croutons for my taste, was excellent and one order of cannolis came with two pieces. Service was friendly and efficient.
