Michael Angelos deli is, quite simply, the only "fast food" that is on Third Street. It's prices are reasonable for a family on the go. They are a deli, and you order at the counter a generous sandwich, grab some chips and a drink with free fountain refills, maybe add some potato salad or a pre-made Greek salad, and sit by the window and watch all the people making fools of themselves on Third Street with all their shopping boxes and fru-fru high end dresses. It's fun! And all this for under ten bucks on Third Street, this is the cheapest overall place to eat there.
Like any great deli, the sandwiches are fresh. The meats are delicious, and unlike Subway and the like, the meat is sliced for you fresh right when you order. The submarine rolls are outstanding (if made same day--ask) as they are chewy yet soft (unlike Subway chain, which is just soft).
On sunny days, you can eat outdoors under umbrellas on the tables.
The staff is friendly, and the place look new. It has a sort of new subdivision feel to it--not some greasy classic deli with graffiti carved on the tables--but it's great.
Highly recommend Michael Angelo's Deli, right on Third Street. My wife and I bike on the river path, and then cut up to Third Street and beeline to this deli. The bike parking rack is across the street.
