“Elegant in a great location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 17, 2013 via mobile

We dined here while staying at The Herrington Inn and Spa. The food was excellent with impressive presentation. We received an appetizer taster and dessert taster from the chef ,which were delicious. We were dining with a child and they did have children's options.

“Romantic fine dining at it's best!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 25, 2013

We had some excellent meals at this ten table fine dining place, overlooking the Fox River. Excellent, gourmet, finely prepared and tasty food. A special prepared chefs tasting appetizer was brought out while we were picking out wines from the extensive list. We were quite impressed with the selection. You can tell they have a buyer who knows how to select a nice variety of wines. Stephen ordered a veal cheeks dish, something we haven't had before, and it was so tender it was amazing. I had the sea bass, and it was outstanding. The music was classical, and so romantic, a nice change from what other dining places put on. Service was outstanding. I would take your sweeties to this romantic place and stay at The Herrington, for a great experience.

What a lovely place for dinner! We went there to celebrate our friend's 10th wedding anniversary and it was just wonderful. We will be returning there to eat again!

“Romantic dining experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 31, 2012

We go the the Herrington every year for our anniversary and make a reservation at Atwater's to celebrate. I think it's going on 10+ years and we have enjoyed every dining experience. Most of the time we have been lucky enough to have Joe as our waiter and he has always been very attentive without being intrusive. He represents Atwater's in the very best way.

I would suggest this restaurant to anyone wanting a more intimate setting - it's not for large loud groups (unless you reserve the gazebo).

“A Sure Thing for Quality, Service and Ambience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 11, 2012

This is our favorite place to go for a special occasion, or when we want a nice, quiet, romantic dinner, breakfast, or just cocktails and an appetizer. We've always enjoyed the nice atmosphere, great view and intimate dining.

Thank you for your comments. As a small independant operation we have the flexibility to do things that other restaurants can't always do. I am glad you appreciate our goal to be the first place people think of in the western suburbs for a special night out.

Sincerely,

Paul Ruby, GM
