“hit or miss”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 14, 2012

Sometimes the food is great other times not so. It all depends on the day. You just have to take a chance. Service is great as is the setting. It would just be nice if you could depend on your food being served how you like it, not burnt, tough, or even what you ordered.

“Every Day Breakfast”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 29, 2012

We always enjoy the porch view, wait staff and Walt coming by to chat and ask about the food!

One of the better food establishments in a 50 mile radius!

“Quaint”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 14, 2012

This place has great character. The owner is a wonderful Christian man. The food may not be spectacular but I love coming here just the same.

“Sub-par food, overpriced, horrible service”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed March 26, 2012

While the breakfast is alright(assuming that even a monkey could make a decent breakfast spread), the lunch and dinner menus leave much to be desired as the food is unimaginative and bland. While the waitresses are sweet, the owner seems oblivious to how unapologetically slow the whole operation is. The only thing keeping people coming back are the pies, Starbucks coffee, and the fact that there is nowhere else to eat in Geneseo. Dont waste your time and money, because your better off hitting up the McDonald's dollar menu.

“Great food, worst service ever”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed October 3, 2011

Kudos to the kitchen and Owners Musser for a great breakfast menu. But whoa, that Sunday morning service!

After being seated, we waited 8 minutes until our waitress (Cheyenne) appeared to take drink orders. During this time, another table was seated, a different waitress greeted that table took their drink orders and had their table loaded with waters and coffee and their breakfast order en route to the kitchen. Okay, so our waitress was swamped, we took a chill pill.

However, it took another 5 minutes for our waitress to return with our waters and orange juice, and OOPS! She wasn't quite ready to take our order!

Long and short of it is that we were there almost 20 (18 spot on) minutes before our order was taken and when the food DID arrive, it was lukewarm, the order was not right (wait staff error we can only surmise), and we waited for an order of breakfast potatoes that never did arrive. 4 tables seated after our table of 4 arrived and departed before we got a check!

French toast was awesome, bacon was great, omelets were very generous and accompanied by decent homemade biscuits.

Atmosphere in the old Victorian, well-restored home is nothing short of charming. Which all goes to show just how much weak staff can mess up your brand.

4 stars for the kitchen, 4 stars for the quaint and charming atmosphere, and zippo for staff management. To us, it appeared that some of the young girls bussing tables would do a far better job waitressing. Perhaps ask the hostess who she/he would want waiting on him/her and their family.

Staffing is very inconsistent and service suffers as a result.

We will return, but we will be far more selective about our wait staff!

Salud!
